When you start up the wizard, one of the first screens allows you to add a “trigger” event. Add a “schedule watcher” trigger and set your interval.

May 13, 2005 at 9:18 pm #106577kimmyMemberI had to uninstall version 2.2 due to an error message that was continually popping up. I reinstalled it again and tried to do the automatic update. The two times I tried, buddy spy closed out after searching for updates. What can be wrong?

Does it close down before you get to install the updates or after? Everytime i update it closes after is says it downloaded the updates and i take that as being part of how it works.May 15, 2005 at 3:36 pm #106455UnSaKreDMemberSome people have been experiencing problems wth the auto update feature
on the new Buddy Spy.
This is being addressed in the 2.2.02 beta release.
I am working on a few new features for this release as well.
Expect it out Friday ish.

Some more info for ya…
I noticed another quirk in the “history” page. It never displays the name of the room in the history. It will always come back as “Not In Chat”Also… question…
I know that if a user attempts 30 times to get into any number of chatrooms in a short time period, then that ID will be blocked from entering any room for about 10-15 minutes. Also, if you leave a chatroom and try to enter any room (even the same one) you are allowed only 10 attempts. This has been my Yahoo experience forever and others have known this also.My question to you is… are the bots we are using in “Buddy Spy” succeptible to this behaviour as well? It appears as though they may be. I recently tried scanning my own name in one of the “Lobbies” with only 4 people in it… and it showed me online..just “Not In Chat”. However, I logged out and in with a different bot and the result was correct. It found me in the room I was in.

May 15, 2005 at 10:47 pm #106456UnSaKreDMemberThe Scan History bug should be fixed in 2.2.02 i havent had any problems with it as of yet.
As for your question, it is time based. 10 attempts to join the same room within a certain time allotment. I believe anyway.
Im working on that, are you using the newest update dan? or are you still on the original release?

May 18, 2005 at 1:42 am #106519UnSaKreDMemberJust a quick notice,
Yahoo! has done protocol upgrading in conjunction with their newest Messenger Release.
So if buddy Spy does not login, theres the problem…
I am working on upgrading it to YMSG 13, and so far It has done so with out a problem.
That is to say, that Yahoo! has yet to change the encryption scheme.
OOOOH so much fun.
Also, yahoo in doing this upgrade, has left the p2p scanning option, returning a lot of false positives.
In the beta, this will and has been fixed, I am currently running tests on this now.
If you wish to get a private copy of the beta before its release, please pm me on yahoo and I will send it to you.
The more testers, feedback, suggestions the higher the quality of the next beta.
Ok quick update, I found the bug where it wasnt displaying the buddy chat status.
So in 2.2.02 it works, im doing more testing with it as of now.
May 18, 2005 at 3:16 pm #106520UnSaKreDMemberBuddy Spy 2.2.2 beta released,
Use auto update to download the update.
If your auto update does not work, or you are having issues with it; You may download the Update from http://www.buddy-spy.com/updates/BuddySpy.exe just replace the current Buddy Spy with the update.
May 18, 2005 at 4:19 pm #106703pcaddictedMember🙁 I downloaded from your link because auto update wouldnt work for me. Its telling me invalid name and password no matter what name I use or try it wont log in. Logged those names in on messenger to make sure they work and they do.
I uninstalled and reinstalled twice any more suggestions?
went to buddyspy.com and your forum. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and thanks for all your hard work.
pcaddictedMay 18, 2005 at 10:26 pm #106521UnSaKreDMemberyou need to have the ymsgencrypt .dll in the same folder as well,
From the sounds of it, that is the problem.
May 18, 2005 at 10:44 pm #106701imported_Ven0mMemberauto update works fine for me
May 19, 2005 at 12:45 am #106522UnSaKreDMemberActually I Fixed the bug from 2.0 where it would error on update.
But for those that the bug is still an issue, just click the link and replace old buddy spy w/ new buddy spy. you can also delete packetslib.dll, since it is no longer referenced.
May 19, 2005 at 8:03 am #106694DobrinMemberI am with the “old” Buddy Spy 2.2.1 and the “old” YM 6. Well how is it possible that Buddy Spy shows an user offline with P2P packet, online with Avatar and Web Check and Invite packet doesn’t work. At the same time he’s online according to profiles.yahoo.com.
Who should I trust to ?? 😮
Does the Buddy Spy work with the newest YM ?? May be this is the reason for these contradictive results.
I will now download the new beta and check.May 19, 2005 at 8:59 am #106695DobrinMemberWell with the new Buddy Spy 2.2.2 it’s the same. When he comes online and I can see him all the P2P , avatar and web check show online as well as profiles.yahoo.com. When I see him that he signs off then P2P starts to show offline but all the others stay online !
Is it possible that this is one of his profile IDs and when he logs in with the others profiles.yahoo.com shows this as online as well as the avatar and web check packets. What’s the problem with P2P check ?
Is it possible that this contradiction accurs if he uses the YM 7 ?? -
