I am on 24/7. When I don’t feel like talking or I am not around to talk the IM’s just build up, no away message. As far as the build up of these so called “morons” well… I don’t let them build up. What I do is meet smart people and talk to them and try to help who I can avoiding them from adding me or me adding them. Sometimes I kick myself in the ass but it’s okay. I just recently had a list too large and didn’t want to hurt feelings so, silently, I changed names and sent out a couple emails. Now I have a buddy list of about 6 people and I don’t have to worry about avoiding anyone! Some may call me a prick for that but myself think of it as being polite 🙂
January 4, 2004 at 3:03 am #56348Grim ReaperMemberi am on AIM and ICQ almost 24/7…every couple of days ill leave my computer off few about 6 or 7 hours to let it cool down and not run.
January 25, 2004 at 9:46 pm #56364mrblonde608Participant24/7 here.
Most people that don’t have Dial-up do.
January 26, 2004 at 6:54 pm #56365AMH-UKParticipantI have Trillian on from 1600h-2345h (from when I get in from school-when I go to bed). However, when I’m p’d off I just stick it into away or busy.
February 6, 2004 at 1:56 am #56361IMQueenMemberSame for me. I keep my machine on 24/7 (not a problem with XP) and I use away messages or appear offline on MSN. AIM 5.5 has invisibility so I can use that now. That way I can lurke.
May 1, 2004 at 2:03 pm #56366BCraw2424MemberAIM is just on when my computer is on, so I keep my comp on 24/7 so yeah I am on all the time:D
May 4, 2004 at 5:18 am #56367DeadGerlMemberPretty much 24/7, except Im away a lot with homework and crap.
May 4, 2004 at 6:26 am #56350EvanMemberi usually keep it on but I usually turn it off before I go to bed. but somedays I just leave it on all night
July 27, 2004 at 5:46 pm #56372etErnaL SyNMemberwell im on probbaly on 15 hours a day I would go 24/7 but I have dial up. so some times I have to get of so people can use the phone.
July 27, 2004 at 6:31 pm #56368SushiMan92MemberI keep it on if I’m in a chatty mood or if something special happened to me. If I don’t feel talkative or nothing happened then the answer would have to be no.
July 28, 2004 at 9:19 am #56355RabidKittenParticipantEh, not really. It doesn’t make a different particularly because the people who IM me either have my number and will call me, or will just stop by if it’s anything important. I’ve been known to even just take down different messengers when I’m online because I don’t want to deal with the people. About the only time I ever kept it up when I wasn’t online was when I was depressed and just CRAVED outside attention in order to distract myself, you know, like a month ago. *smirk* Hah!
August 18, 2004 at 6:38 am #56371PinoyZeroMemberI keep my computer on 24/7 and I got cable internet so it’s always on 24/7 unless I have to restart my computer after installing something but than it goes straight back on… I put my away message on when i’m away…

October 9, 2004 at 6:38 pm #56376calseth26MemberI turn the computer on in my room when I get up. I check my e-mail and sign on to Trillian before I leave for school and then set everything to away. Then I check all the messages from friends or family that I get, then wait until they sign on to answer their question.
October 9, 2004 at 8:23 pm #56370kyuubiMemberyeah….MSN/AIM on 24/7…..some time it gets annoying so I go away on AIM and offline on MSN…
October 10, 2004 at 4:37 am #56369LucifinaMemberuh, since I hate booting my comp and I’m addicted to IM’s yea i’m on AIM as long as I don’t have to reboot then of course sign back on. I don’t like MSN much so i’m never on, and yahoo i’m only on when i’m at the comp b/c ppl fool with it too much:( besides I get offline messages so I don’t have to be online all the time.
