Hi, the title resumes my question. I had an ICQ account long time ago (like in 1999), and I have stop using it. So I am curious if is still active. The problem is I do not remember the email adress that was connected to it, either if I put my real name or not, so it is very difficult to track myself by ICQ Meet People directory,. Either way I might be wasting my time, because perhaps maybe my account was deleted (or even worst , hacked),. I do not know if there is any policy of ICQ of deleting unused accounts or not.

“ICQ is now working on providing a delete feature which will be available in upcoming ICQ versions. Currently, there’s no such functionality. Instead, you can simply remove all content (profile and contacts) except for your email address, which needs to be attached.”
This implies that they don’t delete inactive accounts. As for finding your old account… your best bet is Google and/or the ICQ people directory. Good luck!
October 29, 2011 at 1:52 pm #177387BoganMemberI had several ICQ accounts from 2000-2004 and I had not used ICQ for about 6 years.
Today, I downloaded the new ICQ and did people searches on my old IDs (ICQ numbers) and none were found.
Maybe the search is unreliable.Anyway, I’ve forgotten which account was associated with what email so I tried to retrieve passwords using each email in turn. None of those email addresses are recorded on ICQ now.
I’m assuming they did a hatchet job — 6 months ago, they closed down the forum and all the ICQ groups so I’m guessing they trimmed that 200 million membership down to 4 or 5 Russian women.
But I don’t really know.
Sorry🙁
