Hi,
I’m looking for a customisable messaging product for a client who wants to create a secure IM service for approximately 3000 users. Can anyone advise if there is such a product on the market and success (or otherwise).
Many thanks,
Nick Woolf

I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for, but a RealDialog agent allows a user to have a ‘conversation’ with automated CSR. It helps to deflect calls/emails to the support group. Check out http://www.realdialog.com or drop me a line at [email protected].
Thanks

Not to self-promote, and I know it’s a bit late considering the date of the request, but try checking out Sonork, if you still have interest. http://sonork.gtv.com – I work there, so you can be sure I’m not impartial, but I CAN safely say that for Enterprise or organizational IM use, Sonork’s pretty tough to beat.
It allows you to set up YOUR OWN IM network on intranet or vpn using private/internet resources, is secure, very easy to deploy and roll out, and is stable…very very stable. Being able to control access to your IM network is vital for any business – information like the nature of your communications structure and patterns is one thing people don’t often think about, but it’s useful competitive info if someone can gain access to it – that’s in addition to keeping your message traffic and file transfers under control, among other things.
Anyway, have a good one…If you want more info, please drop a note!

Sorry this is 7 years too late :o, but I just thought I would include in case any one else in interested in a secure private IM program. Brosix Enterprise Instant Messenger – Secure Corporate Instant Messaging for companies

The main key is that they offer a stand-alone IM server so nothing would be hosted outside company’s network and environment, i.e. history, accounts, user sessions, file transfers.
