Hi, my MSN keeps crashing, it happens whenever I click the option to send webcam, or audio, and the annoying thing is , it also crashes when people send me audio or webcam.
Does anyone know whats wrong, or how to fix this?[Edit] Removed text formatting.

OS version, MSN Messenger version, any firewalls, when did it start, has it always done this?

September 21, 2004 at 1:39 am #37840fiebs101MemberDan Mumford,
have you tried reinstalling MSN Messenger? Do you have a firewall? Do you have any addons or plugins? What do you have for an internet connection? sorry for all the questions, and hopefully we can solve this problem.
September 21, 2004 at 2:00 am #37844kyuubiMemberright….reinstalling seems to be the current solution…tell us how it turns out after that.
September 21, 2004 at 3:29 am #37846Dan MumfordMemberno I dont have a firewall, but I use webroot spy sweeper,

i have broadband internet, and I have had this for about a year and a half, so that has nothing to do with it as this problem only occured in the last week or so.
and I have reinstalled a couple times and it still happensSeptember 21, 2004 at 5:51 am #37841fiebs101Memberhave you made any recent changes to your system to possibly cause this? Updating or upgrading anything? Are you sure you have the latest drivers and such for your video hardware? Perhaps you could look into that.
September 21, 2004 at 2:34 pm #37847Dan MumfordMemberno I havent updated or upgraded anything, and the drivers are ok, as the camera works out of msn, and also, its not just the cam its the audio that makes it crash

Since yesterday, it hasn’t been too good of a time for us to suggest anything really, since the service is down temporarily. In the mean time we can only suggest to be patient and wait for the service to be back up and running properly, then we may be able to give a proper analysis and determine better what the problem possibly is.
Please view this thread for more information on the service being down:

October 11, 2004 at 9:05 pm #37854fishlips20MemberI had the same issue.
I first removed all plugins (msn loader, MSN plus 3…)
I ended up moving to Windows messenger, and that kept crashing…
Then I moved to Trillian, and it wouldn’t connect to MSN.
I removed all messenger programs and removed their entries from the regstry, then reinstalled MSN messenger.
That didn’t work out. Then I tried web messenger and that wouldn’t work.
I ended up reformatting my hard disk and everything is great now.
An extreme solution, but a solution nonetheless…..
if you are frustrated, it works. -
