In trying to get a new AIM screen name — the following webpage appears with this message: “We are sorry, but you will need to enable cookies and Javascript to use your Screen Name with this site.” I enable cookies and Javascript (need to, for work use on computer). I’m tinkering with this annoyance but have not been able to get a screen name yet — the message is all I get. IE is set to accept cookies and javascript is enabled! So what is it that I’m missing? Additionally I’m not sure why I would get the above message, which ends with “…to use your Screen Name with this site.” BECAUSE I don’t HAVE a screen name. I’m using the link on the AIM icon to “get a screen name.” This message appears no matter which version of AIM I downloaded — the newest, or even an older version for WIN95 (which is bare bones but would be fine for my needs). Any ideas or suggestions more than welcome. This is my first time trying to use AIM as an ex-AOL customer, and it’s very frustrating to not be able to breach this webpage when what it insists I need is what I already HAVE!
