Does anyone else have problems trying to access their New Posts? I know that there are new posts since last visit, because the main forum page says so, but New Posts brings up nothing, plus none of the posts I have read are coming up as bold.
What’s up with THAT?!February 25, 2005 at 8:17 pm #115575detn8rParticipantOh, and now it’s not displaying the forum home active topics anymore either. This is weird and annoying!
February 25, 2005 at 8:58 pm #115579OreoMemberI’ve had some problems with this for a while…I believe I mentioned it some where. I have just started to use “Today’s Posts” that way I know I’ll find the new ones. There have been some I have missed because they did not show up as new.
February 25, 2005 at 9:35 pm #115574Jeff HesterKeymasterI hate to say this, but it’s working perfectly fine for me.
The way it should work is that your “session” is maintained for 60 minutes. This means that if you logon to the site and do nothing (no clicking around or other activity) for one hour, your session will expire (you’re name will also disappear from the active user list on the forum home). The next time you either refresh or navigate to another page at BBB, a new session is created. Each time a new session is created, the “new topics” list should show only topics that are new since your last session.
It works consistently like this for me, but I will gladly work with you and help test this to figure out why it seems to be broken for you.
February 25, 2005 at 9:39 pm #115580shifterMemberI’ve never experienced a problem with the New Posts search either. Sounds like a “user” issue. 😉
February 26, 2005 at 2:30 am #115576detn8rParticipantFunny thing is, it’s the first time it happend to me. I was at school, and signed in, at which point I instantly click “New Posts”. Like I said, I knew I had active topics, because the forum home displayed the “new posts” icon. Once I clicked new posts, it told me there was nothing to display. So, I jump to the MSN Messenger forum (where it said I had new posts ready to be read), and sure enough I did, but they were not bold. So, I created this thread, and all the original icons stating I had posts to be read on the forum home no longer said I do, but this thread appeared in the new posts.
It’s very odd indeed, but like I said, it’s the first and only time it had done it to me, and I was at school.
*shrugs*
February 26, 2005 at 8:27 am #115578DJHyperbyteMemberCheck the ‘Display options’. It’s possible that you’re sorting the posts wrong, thus don’t see the new ones.
