You may have heard about Spotify… it’s a popular music streaming service that began in Europe and is now launching in the U.S.
Personally, I’ve been using my own local iTunes library and supplementing with Pandora to mix it up a bit. I’ve played a little with Amazon’s Cloud Player, which is interesting, but doesn’t give you access to music you don’t already own (or have in your local library, for the most part). I’m also intrigued by the forthcoming cloud music service from Apple.
But Spotify is getting a ton of buzz recently, so when Klout offered a perk to it’s users to be one of the first to get a U.S. account, I jumped.
“Spotify is so good” – Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook
“…the simple and light software application that lets one find and play a terrific range of music instantly.” – AllthingsD
“We once dreamt of an endless CD library … This year it was created and named Spotify” – Audio product of the year, Stuff Awards 09
“Money can’t buy me love, but it could buy me Spotify. And right now they’re sort of one and the same” – Caroline McCarthy, CNet
