Is it possible to track or find out anything about a person’s Yahoo screen name? I know that you can get info from Yahoo profiles and there used to be something in chat where you could follow them around or enter the same chat rooms but are there any other legal ways?
The reason I ask is because I’m part of an online community where some of us believe one of the members is posing as someone else. The owner/moderator doesn’t want to get involved. I’d like to nail the posers butt to the wall. The only way to do this is to either wait and hope they slip up or try to find info on the screen name. Obviously, tracking their IP address would be great but won’t work when they use Yahoo mail to post their messages.

If you do know the other name they are using, then why not just join them???
You can still use the chat commands like /join /goto once your in a room.
However, if you are asking if there is any way to tell what other names this person has? The answer is no. You can have various accounts and no one will ever know they are connected to you.
However like Oreo said, if the person is using the same account and just has different alias, then you can add them to your list, and if both names pop online at the same time, you have a better indication.
Better yet, the most awesome program is buddy-spy. Tells you if they’re online and what room they’re in.
