Has anyone tried or have PowerDVD, to play their DVD’s on their computer?
I had an older version of PowerDVD, and it worked like a beaut, that was formatted with my computer when I bought it. I guess it was registered with Windows. But when I was browsing download.com I seen that there was a new version of it (5.XX). So I downloaded it, and it seemed to work fine, and great, but it will go say, three minutes and the sound would quit. Nothings on mute, the sound is enabled. The only way to fix it, is to exit out, and open it up again. I thought it would be a free upgrade seeing as I already had a full version on my computer, but apparently I only get a 14 day free trial. Do you think that this may be something they added because its a trial? It says its registered in my name (I didnt register anything when I installed, that I remember), and I cant find anywhere to enter a registration code. (I think you know what I mean). If anyone would be able to tell me if its becuase its a trial version the sounds quits out, or how to fix that, where to enter a reg. code, or even a better app. to play DVD’s thanks.
September 12, 2003 at 6:53 am #55705TigerbladeParticipantyeah i have and use it all the time… since we dont have a DVD player (or a VCR either for that matter) in my dorm room, my computer is all we have at the moment… i’m not sure what version number it is, i tried to find a number but couldnt. i’ve had this computer (preloaded with the DVD-ROM and PowerDVD) for about 4 months now and havent had any problems with it. the only semi-problem i have is that it takes a second to resume play after its been paused for a while, but thats probably normal and its not a big deal anyway…. all in all i love it

Look also on the CD provided with the motherboard.
As a rule of thumb…….. “If it aint broke, dont fix it.”
Entering “free DVD player” into a search engine returned me 42 hits… Do you really need lessons in use of a search engine BigBlueMaster?

The reason for the upgrade was for improvements on the software. I might as well just return to the old one.

‘Recommended’….. like I said if it aint broke dont fix it.. an upgrade for no real reason is fixing something that aint broke.
Search the software provided with your computer.
Try Windoze Media Player..
As for using google…. I recommend those apps….;) Yup, any damned one you find.
As for “Anyone tried/have PowerDVD?”. Yes to both.Dont question good advise,… simply stop asking.
