Hi,
I’m in a real panic after doing something stupid. I got chatting to a girl in a chatroom and she convinced me to start revealing all. After a minute or two she told me to check out a link. When I clicked on it, to my horror, it was a clip of me posted on youtube. She told me to pay her some money or she would post it all over the net. I went along with her for a minute or two before I simply ignored her. She then said because i wouldnt pay her this clip would be all over the net and my life would be ruined.I know this was utterly stupid of me and it’s a lesson learnt. But I’m frantic over where this clip might now be. I got it taken down off youtube but not after it was watched by 23 people. She said it was on 6 other torrent sites. How can I possibly know which ones they are? Also, if she sees the clip is taken down from youtube surely she can post it under a different description (I only found it cos of the original subject header).
I’m quite distraught over this. I know I could try and report her but I feel the best thing to do is to simply ignore her. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Since you probably don’t really know her or where she really lives, forget about reporting her. It’ll just bring more unwanted attention to yourself.
My advice? Block her and forget about it entirely. Even the 23 people who may have viewed it on YouTube before it was taken down probably have no idea who you are and could care less anyway.
As for her threat of posting it to torrent sites? Who cares? Unless you’re some famous dude (you’re not, are you?) no one is going to give a flying fart about your little webcam indiscretion.
The chances of someone who actually knows you ever seeing this is pretty remote, but IF it does happen… you’ll have to eat humble pie and say (in your most sheepish voice) “Yeah, I effed up. I don’t know what I was thinking. I’ll NEVER do THAT again.”
Good luck!
Finally, learn something from this, please?

The best thing to do is just ignore her. Those 23 people who saw it probably were indeed strangers who have no idea who you are. And if she keeps posting it up on youtube, I am sure that youtube will block her IP address or something…
Keep ignoring her and she’ll get tired of trying to persuade you to give her $$$ and go on to another victim/give up and get a job/find another way of making money. It really is sick that people do this to innocent victims, but…it happens.
I hope you get over this and this woman stops harassing you…best of luck.
