I’ve been having problems with a booter lately when using voice chat. I tried downloading Y! Tunnel, but this didn’t seem to do the trick. The first round of bootings was one of those bot-driven PM orgies, but after that I would simply be taken offline (even when using Yahelite). I’ve read on the boards messages up to late 2003 which did not inspire optimism, and I am just wondering if there are any methods that have been developed since and that work more generally. Thanks in advance.

First if you hv new Yahoo! Messenger 6.0, then go to messenger > privacy options> messages. There you will find in the third column which says:
“Show messages from users not from your messenger list “
and check ” in a single box”.
Then you can do another thing to stop PM booting.. Go to Ignore list and check ” Ignore any one who is not in my friend’s list or something like that”
I hope it will help…
I know that Yahoo tunnel is bootable. But I wuldlike to experiment this. I don’t know if some one using Yahoo chat 2.0 from the website can be booted from the chat room. Another thing you can try is, you can make some aliases or nicks and you can be in the same room…( One nick by your messenger and another nick by using Yahoo Chat 2.0 from the website ) So if some1 boots you off in one id, you can always be present there in another id…U can also try Yahoo java chat. If you cant be in the same room with the different nick then try another id.
HTH.;)May 13, 2004 at 4:15 am #45259zhugeliangMemberOkay, here’s some help Hausdorff, get a third party chat client, such as Yahelite, mychat, Ychat, Yazak, Jam or my personal favorite, YmLite. I have been using YmLite for quite some time now, and have found that it’s pretty much unbootable. I haven’t been booted since I started using YmLite. YmLite stands out from other chat programs because it limits the amount of PM windows that pop up at one time, like mine, I have it set to 1 PM window every 15 seconds. Because of that legnthy time interval, I have enough time to ignore the bot trying to boot me before another PM window can pop up. It also doesn’t receive invitations to chat, mic, or webcam, so you don’t have to worry about those kinds of boots. You can still use the mic in the room, you just can’t use it in a PM with someone. You also can’t use a webcam or view one, but you don’t need to because you can still use the regular Yahoo messanger with a different s/n, just make sure you create a new account for that s/n;). I have posted a quick tutorial on how to set up YmLite to be bootproof (well, as bootproof as a chat client can be, and keep in mind, I haven’t been booted since I started using it). I can point you to it if you are having trouble finding it, and if you do find it and have any questions, just ask them and we’ll be glad to clear things up/update the tutorial if it needs it. Well, hope that helps, HAPPY CHATTING!!!! 😀
