So I went out and bought a dvd tonight and I went and stuck it in my cd/dvd-rom and it will not play. It says that I need some type of decoder..does anyone know what this decoder is?
Here’s the message that keeps popping up.
Hi,
I use the Nvidia PureVideo Decoder for playing DVDs in WMP11. You can download a 30-day trial from the link and try it out yourself. You can also download the Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility here to check whether you have a compatible MPEG-2 video decoder installed in your system.
If you don’t want to spend any money, the VLC Media Player is free and plays back DVDs and a bunch of other stuff. Hope this helps.
