Edition #3The story…
It is a rainy, cold Thursday when I drive into our street again. For a short moment I think I hear your voice when I turn on the lights in the house, but the only sounds that I hear are coming from the radio and the TV. I just can’t help it that your spirit still lives inside my head. It’s like something that’s left from a past life, a life that has been over for a long time.I don’t even know anymore why things went wrong between us. Was it because we just got bored, or was it because we were too proud to admit to our mistakes? Maybe we did get bored of each other… But, you always said it was my pride that was in the way. Well, I have nothing to be proud of anymore now, but I didn’t get you back with that.
I compare us with a paper that the wind blows through the street. Once our love was front-page news, but now you won’t find anything about us anymore in there. Compared with the stories of war and politics, our story doesn’t mean much of course. Our love just blew away, like this paper.
But you won’t hear me be dramatic about all the things I’ve lost. Somewhere I will find my place again in the normal life of everyday. And once I find it, I’ll keep it…
The song…?
Name the title of the song and win!January 16, 2005 at 2:12 am #111918princeGParticipantMay we have some hints please?? 😀
like, hmm, the year perhaps or something.
January 16, 2005 at 12:21 pm #111908DJHyperbyteMemberSo soon? 😉 I’m sure someone must at least think this sounds familiar…
January 16, 2005 at 9:29 pm #111913TigerbladeParticipantit does sound familiar, kinda… but it doesnt match the lyrics of any songs i’ve tried… hmm.
January 16, 2005 at 9:41 pm #111909DJHyperbyteMemberHint: It’s a song by a band that has been active since the early 80’s, but they recorded this song in the first part of the 90’s.
Oh, and Tigerblade? Didn’t you [THREAD=27591]already qualify[/THREAD] with the story of [THREAD=27772]last week[/THREAD]? 😛
January 17, 2005 at 9:43 pm #111910DJHyperbyteMemberI didn’t think this one was so difficult!
Hint: It’s a song by a quite successful British band.
January 17, 2005 at 9:54 pm #111914RabidKittenParticipantWoot, even brain dead I finally got it.
January 17, 2005 at 10:02 pm #111911DJHyperbyteMemberGosh, I was already beginning to get worried! I didn’t think this song was disguised that good at all. 🙂
Either way, congrulations! Do you like Duran Duran their other songs?
January 17, 2005 at 10:13 pm #111915RabidKittenParticipantI’m actually a pretty decent fan…hey now, don’t hate me because my taste in music has expanded past the late 90’s. Around here, if it wasn’t made after 1999, it doesn’t exist, and that’s only for that obnoxious song “Lets all party like it’s 1999”. All the radio stations around here are stuck in the past 2 years and the kids aren’t any better.
But yes, my mother would play Duran Duran continuously when I was young and just recently my brother pira…I mean….properly bought a bunch of music by them for her to make a cd and she’s been playing it a lot…which is why it sounded familiar but I couldn’t place it…because I suck at that “name” thing.January 19, 2005 at 10:09 am #111917QwertyMemberAh! So we are aloud to do searches on lyrics.com etc? Or not? I was under the impression that was against the rules?

There is nothing saying you can’t search a lyrics site (how could we possibly police that?), just remember that the lyrics DJ posts are written differently than those of the actual song, but you can certainly use them to compare.January 22, 2005 at 3:58 am #111916RabidKittenParticipantI didn’t search for them on there *rolls her eyes* I just went and put Duran Duran Ordinary World Lyrics in google and that was the first site that came up. I wanted a copy of lyrics to post up with my answer to link to it. Nice try at being a smartass but thwarted 😛
