how do u do that because i want to do that id oltn want a link to like spotlife.com i want it on my site. i have a cable modem 2 comps and a router with firewall in it. so do i host it myself or get someone to do it for me?
There are a couple kinds of webcam applications: streaming or periodic updating.
The most common and easiest to setup is one that periodically creates a snapshot and uploads it to a server. There are services like Spotlife that provide space on a server for you, but they charge a monthly fee. You basically just need some space on a server that you can upload your webcam image to, usually using FTP. The BigBlueBall webcam is an example of this type. The image updates once every 60 seconds (when the cam is on, of course). If you check our webcam page, you’ll get more info on the software we’re using. If you have any specific questions about the setup, post them here and I’ll be happy to help out.
The second kind is streaming, and it requires the computer your webcam is hooked up to to act as a server. People viewing your webcam stream will have to connect directly to your stream (which can be tricky when you’re behind a router). There’s a nice package called iVista that does this. A friend has used it successfully (cable modem, router config. sim. to yours) but I haven’t gotten it to work through my router and DSL connection
Hope this gets you started. If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Hey thanks Jeff. And boy are those routers tricky!
