David
ParticipantAs some of you may know, I’ve setup a trivia bot in #trivia on irc.bigblueball.com with a bunch of trivia files, but I’m looking for some good questions. I have a BBB file originally made by Shifter, but we used that for the launch party trivia. (And we are considering having another trivia contest :)) So what I’m looking for is trivia files you’ve found, or ones you’ve made, about anything, from computers to IM to general trivia. If you plan to make your files, please use this format:
Question*Answer1*Answer2*Answer3
Question2*Answer1One question per line, in .txt format. If you can help at all that’d be great, thanks!

ParticipantThat’s not really useful in this case as I need textual files with questions and answers in a specified format.

ParticipantCopy and paste one question and answer at a time? Do you not understand the point in my question? I think I have better things to do with my time than copy and paste questions and answers one-at-a-time into notepad, I’ve already coded the trivia engine and supporting software–I think that’s enough time on my part. There are tons of pre-formatted Trivia script files on the internet, just not compiled anywhere, a friend of mine (Time on our IRC server, not a forum member) has sent me several files from which I created a database of 500,000 questions or so.

ParticipantAmy wrote:Yet you expect others to do it……. fascinatingNo I don’t? Again, you fail to understand how this work, there are files that were created years ago by others, huge files, megabytes of textual questions, I’m not expecting anyone to create their own file unless they want to, I’m just asking for anyone that already has a trivia file to send it to me.

KeymasterNo I don’t fail to understand. You asked for help I was helping. It’s easy enough to go to file and view source and copy and paste from that. Not one by one. And please if this must continue I would think as staff members it shouldn’t go any further. Help was asked, help was offered. end of story. Thank you and you’re very welcome.

KeymasterCan’t we all just get along like peanut butter and jelly?
Anyway I provided David with some things yesterday so I believe the problem is solved. No need to make a mountain out of a mole people.

KeymasterDo not get into petty squabbles again, please. There is no need and it looks awful.

ParticipantWhatever, my responses were justified and as professional as required to respond to Amy.

ParticipantSo… do you still need more questions, Dave, or did MiamiGuy take care of it?

ParticipantIf you’ve got some it’d be nice, though we have quite a few now.
