ParticipantAn update via email from the Microsoft Connect Team:
Dear Microsoft Connect Registered User,
As a registered user on the Microsoft Connect Web site, we want to inform you about an update coming soon that will affect your profile information. This update will make it possible for you to access your profile and update the personal information you have provided through Microsoft Connect or other Microsoft Web sites in one central location at http://profile.microsoft.com/. This update is scheduled to happen on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007.
When you registered with your Windows Live ID/.NET Passport at Microsoft Connect, you entered your profile information with our Web site exclusively. There is also a separate profile store associated with Windows Live ID/.NET Passport accounts at
http://profile.microsoft.com, which serves the majority of Web sites on the Microsoft.com domain. As a service to you, and to future users of the Microsoft Connect Web site, we will merge these two separate profiles into one which will be stored at http://profile.microsoft.com.What happens after the update?
After June 2nd, 2007, when you log in to Microsoft Connect, we will show you a reminder message to update your profile information. If you don’t update your profile information within one month after June 2nd, 2007, you will be automatically asked to make updates on your next visit following this date. What happens if I have a profile on both sites?
You may have profile information on http://profile.microsoft.com where the information is different from that on Microsoft Connect. We will not make any decisions for you about your profile information, we will ask you to update and save your data yourself.Make a note of these important impacts of the update:
• The Microsoft Connect “alternate e-mail address” will be dropped from your profile and deleted from your record. This will affect very few users since this “alternate” has seldom been used by Microsoft Connect.• Microsoft Connect and Microsoft newsletters will use only one e-mail address to communicate with you. If you have been using two different e-mail addresses for these communications, you will have a chance to decide which one to use moving forward. This e-mail address will be associated with the Windows Live ID/.NET Passport you use to access your profile.Thank you for your help and patience during this process and we look forward to continuing to serve you,
Microsoft Connect Team
