Cool. I actually picked up photography about 3 months ago. Bought myself a CANON EOS Rebel XS with the default 35mm lens kit. As of now I’m still using the default settings when you choose say landscape, portrait and so on however I intend to adjust my own setttings (ISO, etc..) once I get better. I’m curious, how are you obtaining a panoramic view using 35mm lens? (Note I’ve yet to mess around with all the settings on my cam). I’m also curious to see if I can actually take black and white pictures with this camera rather than faking a black and white in photoshop.
I wish I could find scenery like yours here, however miami is pretty flat and 98% of trees are palm trees. Argh. I have to settle for objects around my house or plants or flowers, not exactly the manliest of things however still make great photographs

Anyway I have some stuff up on picasaweb: Picasa Web Albums – anthonium
I’d use flickr however a free account only lets others see up to 200 photos and you have limited sets. Think I might start using Zooomr though as picasaweb has a 1gb limit.

You’ve got some good pictures there! Sadly, I don’t really have anything photogenic in the house. =(

More here as always!
Enjoy!

I took that with my Canon SD600 using the macro setting. The fly was huge, and it sat still as I got the camera closer and closer. I took about 5 shots, and this was the best of the bunch. I tried to get even closer, but it flew away.
When I took that shot, the camera was about 3″ away from the fly.
