Transfering files over my network used to run really fast. Then, my processor fried. I got a new processor, wasnt compatiple with the mobo. Then i got a new mobo, wasnt compatible with my video card. Then i got another mobo from frys and it was already ruined. Then i finally got one from pc-club and got my comp up and running. When i reconnected the network my speeds dropped to and all time low and whenever i try and access my other comp’s files the window usually times out and stops responding. Files, in my opinion, take forever to transfer compared to previous speeds. I want to know how fast my network should be running with MSN broadband and how i can speed it up if possible. Takes little over a minute to transfer 1MB. Im not really sure if its average or not but if it is it would still be nice to know how i could make it go faster.

I’m not sure what you have here, but find the one that is Local Area Connection or if you know the name. Double Click. Type up all the stats that appear after you double click into here.

The low end speed for a processor (the lower limit beyond which there is a measurable degradation in performance) is 100mhz.
Regardless of the speed freaks protestations there is no significance improvement in web surfing above 100mhz.November 14, 2003 at 12:01 am #53901Someguy03MemberHere magistyk
