Hi friends,
last night when I was using my laptop, I realized that the AC adapter is kinda stuck to the AC Adapter port of my laptop. So, with all curosity and muscle, I tried to pull it out, but it so happened that the AC power cord snapped and the end of the AC power cord, (the pin which goes into the port ) got stuck into the port. So my laptop is now in condition where the AC adapter pin is stuck to the AC adapter port and with no battery power.I have no idea what to do. Throw any suggestions. Thanks.

Thanks.October 11, 2005 at 9:15 pm #131651SpikeMemberLaptops are usually a real pain to fix, mostly because they’re so compact. Have you tried simply getting some forecips (needlenose pliers that click and stay shut) and trying to pull the plug out? Other than that, I think it’s a matter best left for professionals to replace that port, I really don’t see how you could do that by yourself.

I went to bestbuy today and they said that due to the surge, its the motherboard which is affected, and they have to replace the motherboard. But, as any sane person knows, replacing mother board on a laptop is not really worth it. So, in other words, my Compaq Laptop died last night.
I have to start looking for a new one. -
