Alright, well, here’s a random topic for you.
The other day, I was faced with a difficult question, a question that drew many questions up in my mind and took much much deliberation to come up with a satisfactory answer.
The question was this: “Sami…tell me, what is this peculiar alure you have? Where is your source of power!?”
Now, first of all I was dumbfounded and confused by this “alure” word…so after looking it up in the dictionary and dismissing the first question completely, I turned to the second. What is my source of power? Yes, indeed what is it? After all, everyone has a source of power, somewhere, right? Some thrive off of misery, some angst, some bury themselves up to their ears in pets, some have children, some just sit for hours writing code…but what about me? What is my single source of power?
So, I sat down and made myself a list. Would it be my undeniable wit and charm? Then I remembered that my wit is dry and my charm is twisted in a way that would frighten most children.
So, what about my mad graphics skills. …oh right…heh *looks at all the other graphics folks around* …my bad.
Well, what about my pocket sized cuteness and lovability factor? *… … breaks out laughing* Okay, now seriously…
My cheesy Crochetting, Beading and candlemaking habbits? Then I remembered that that just makes me domesticated.
But then it came to me…my source of power, the source of my vitality, the reason the way I am…is because…
InuYasha guards my kitchen. That…and that alone is the source of it all. I rulez.

BUT… you do bring up an interesting topic… what is the source of power in people’s lives? i’m gonna have to think about it, but in the meantime may as well open it up to others (if you don’t mind, sami…?) What is your “source of power” for life?
May 18, 2005 at 5:12 am #69489EEDOKMemberI know my source of power, it’s my eminating awesomeness, which than radiates upon itself causing more awesomeness to gush out. Then when people walk by they go, wow, how did you get so awesome?!

Really it’s an interesting idea *little shrug* and could actually have a pretty decent discussion on the concept. I mean…really…*sigh* It wouldn’t -have- to involve my Guardian Of The Kitchen InuYasha either.
Really I think she was trying to ask me more of what my passion would be…what drives me to do what I do than anything else…the question and its wording is really up to interpretation.
May 18, 2005 at 5:00 pm #69491TigerbladeParticipantwell clearly your Guardian of the Kitchen will be supervising the conversation. Nothing shall escape the ever-watchful eye of InuYasha.
i’d been thinking about that question a little last night, and i’m having trouble coming up with something that i’d call my source of power or my passion. there’s a lot of possibilities, but nothing that so overwhelmingly drives me that i’d list it as being primary…. hmm.
