Alright, now I need to comment on this movie for two reasons.
One: Extreme Born Agains are hilleriously portrayed in this movie, and while the first 30 minutes made me -crazy- with all the obsessiveness, it was simply one of the funniest movies with a strange little peek into two different worlds, the prejudice and how to cope as well as a little awakening for a few people. That and it has some great jump up and rant moments. … … …Oh, and Mandy Moore’s hot. But not as hot as the goth-jew in the flick. Ohhh prom scene *grrrrr*
Two: …Alright. Fess up. Who gave Macauly Culkin another chance? Come on now. Who was it? Because they should be stuck up on a platform and praised for their good sense!! Honestly, I really disliked the boy, but he did a -great- job in this flick. Him and one other chick in it were the best characters and in many instances made it worthwhile. For example: He’s in a wheelchair. When he dresses up as a Rollerskate for halloween, with laces on his chest, it made me giggle like crazy. There’s a bunch of classic giggle fit one liners, dry cynical comments and fitting little ideas like the one above from him. I really have to say that I never thought that he could do a good job in his lifetime, but he really was good.
I would say this, rent it, see it once. Tape it if you catch it on the Movie Channels and drag it out occassionally. Only 3 curses, so no worries there (very well placed and not just flung around), No nakedness, one very closed off sex scene, a whole 3 seconds long. So overall, something I can watch with my mom and not feel my hands get sweaty, and while my mom isn’t the most chaste of women, she really dislikes excessive cursing and needless nudety and such. So yeah…if anyones seen it, c’mon, give a shout, whatcha think, kids?
