You know these things called SigAmp I have one in my signature. I was wondering if anyone could make one that we could use that would work. You get them at SigAmp.com. Because other wise you have to pay to get cool looking ones and those suck.
May 3, 2005 at 4:42 am #120808m3rcyMemberyeah, or even if they could get the code.
is it made in flash?if we found a way how to do it and share it around we could have it in our own sigs 🙂
May 5, 2005 at 11:23 pm #120804RustyMemberThen we could like have out own signatures made by us to use like so we wouldn’t have to use there cruddy ones and we would have to find a place to host them though.

But…I really don’t want to go into the whole hosting issue. Besides…I’m on 56k, if I was on cable it’d be worth doing it since I could always have music playing and showing.
Maybe someone else has the script and can host it for people who don’t want to pay on that site. 🙂
May 6, 2005 at 10:14 am #120805RustyMemberCan we have the code?
May 15, 2005 at 5:13 am #120810InfiniteMemberi had to register just to call you guys ****ing losers, you think everything is so easy, they use png images, you can write on them on the net with special scripts, and they use a plugin, that i bet u cant make, good luck

What do you mean good luck? If you had actually read my post…I’ve done it before. I don’t have to write my own script…people provide free ones to use. I have my own webserver…which of course supports PHP…so really, it isn’t hard. It sounds to me like you’re a little close-minded and cocky.
May 16, 2005 at 12:37 am #120800RabidKittenParticipantAnd not to mention rude to boot. There is really no reason to come out and attack people for no reason. Alright, state your opinion, get your negativity over with, whatever you need to do to feel like you accomplished something in life…but is it really nessisary to curse and the like? *mutter, shakes her head*
If you don’t think it’s doable, say so, give an example why it’s not doable, something, but really comments like that are completely unhelpful, pointless and make you look like a fool.
RabidKitten: keepin’ it (somewhat) clean since 1984*
May 16, 2005 at 4:50 am #120796EEDOKMemberI made one of these on another site for someone
edit: might not be a good idea to link it give me 2 minsEDIT2:
eedok wrote:first make a page called setsong.php
<?php
$song=$_GET;
$file=fopen(“lastsong.txt”,”w”);
fputs($file,”$song”);
fclose($file);
?>
make sure lastsong.txt has read and write permissions
then get a plugin that posts what you’re listening to like this
http://yoursite.com/setsong.php?song=Mmm%20Bop%20-%20Hanson
(Tech-less’s favorite song)
then lastly to have it put out on an image you put make a sig.php and put it in with a file what you want the background to be and call it background.gif
<?php
header (“Content-type: image/gif”);
$song=file(“lastsong.txt”);
$song=$song[0];
$image=imagecreatefromgif(“background.gif”);
$text_color = imagecolorallocate ($image, 0, 0, 0);
$x=0;
$y=0;
$fontstyle=1;
$song=substr($song,0,strlen($song));
ImageString($image,$fontstyle,$x,$y, “Currently listening to: $song”,$text_color);
imagegif($image);
?>
eedok wrote:with http://www.cc.jyu.fi/~ltnevala/nowplaying/index.php
you have to change setsong.php to
<?php
$title=$_POST;
$artist=$_POST;
$file=fopen(“lastsong.txt”,”w”);
fputs($file,stripslashes(“$title – $artist”));
fclose($file);
?>
May 16, 2005 at 8:44 am #120809m3rcyMemberlooks like you proved infinite wrong 😛
May 16, 2005 at 5:11 pm #120798TigerbladeParticipanti think i already know the answer to this, but i’ll ask anyway. there’s no way to do anything like this without PHP, is there? like perhaps… ASP? i know ASP is a relatively weak language, but no harm in asking at least. i’ve looked around and found similar possibilities through google, but nothing like what i’m looking for
May 16, 2005 at 8:29 pm #120795DavidParticipantThis can (and I have) done it with ASP.NET, but a better solution is via PHP.
May 16, 2005 at 11:57 pm #120799TigerbladeParticipantASP.NET only? not standard ASP? alrighty… i guess I’ll do without. I wasn’t really planning on using it anyway, just wanted to know if it was possible or not.
May 17, 2005 at 3:25 am #120797EEDOKMemberyou can do it through cgi, and cgi doesn’t care what language you write it in
