ok… first the specs. using XP Home, 2.67GHz Intel P4, 512Mb RAM… and I take care of it, regular scans/degrags/maintenance. you get the idea.
obviously i’m the administrator of my computer. recently (about a month ago or so) I set up a separate account on my machine for my sister to use, havent had any real problems with it. until yesterday. as of yesterday, firefox v0.8 lags really badly on any kind of user input. when she clicks in a text box to type (like the yahoo search box) it takes about 5 seconds to display any text. same goes for any other kind of input, whether its from the mouse or the keyboard…. roughly a 5-second lag before we get any kind of response. weird thing is, it’s only firefox, and its only her account. i’m on my account right now typing this in firefox, and I have no problems whatsoever. I cant think of any reason for this.
i’ve cleared out her cache, etc etc, thinking maybe that might be causing a slight delay, but I got nothing. any ideas??July 20, 2004 at 1:18 am #41438SushiMan92MemberMaybe that’s because you may need to the new version (0.9). Just a guess, but that could be it.
July 20, 2004 at 4:24 am #41436TigerbladeParticipanti thought about that, and I actually did upgrade when they released it, but I didnt like it as much… still a few things they needed to work out. so I went back to .8 with no problems. i’m probably gonna upgrade again soon, BUT…
i dont think that’s the problem, because I have no problems with it at all on my user account. none whatsoever. it’s only on her account that there’s any problems.July 20, 2004 at 6:28 am #41437f0rbezMembermake sure you get the update that fixes the mozilla vulnerability if your using anything before 0.9.2.
