I don’t like it – no I don’t. Last week the new Home page for Facebook users rolled out. I have seen very few positive comments about it from my contacts. I want my normal old status box back….
March 19, 2009 at 9:13 pm #173853YahooliganMemberHonestly, it doesn’t bother me. I’m not even sure what the old version looked like anymore. Anyone got some before and after screenshots to post?
Anyhow, change is always painful.
March 20, 2009 at 1:24 am #173849detn8rParticipantI don’t like it because **** is updated in real time — so when people upload pictures, it shows EACH damn picture that is uploaded individually instead of just three side by side. It also shows me what people write I write on someone else’s wall and viseversa. I sure as hell don’t care what other people are writing, why would people care what I do?
March 20, 2009 at 8:15 pm #173855PolarBearNPRParticipantDitto what my friend det said… real time on fb is just plain annoying! Can’t imagine what folks with more than a few dozen friends have to deal with… of course maybe there are filters for that, dunno, cba to mess with it right now. *poke*
March 20, 2009 at 10:24 pm #173846GandalfMemberI like it, and it’s easy to turn off updates from a friend that’s “noisy.”
March 21, 2009 at 4:55 am #173844FanaticMemberI think what this shows is that Facebook users don’t like change. 🙂

Log out of FB and then log back in. You won’t see that person’s streams anymore.
If you want to see their streams again, scroll to the bottom of your home page and click on See Hidden Friends. A window pops up. Select the person you want and click Add to News Feed. Click Close.
March 21, 2009 at 2:16 pm #173854PolarBearNPRParticipantTy Philip for that info… I knew there was a way to declutter the streams, but if I have to do one more set of specifications for a site, I’m gonna scream! Seems like everywhere we go there are so many options to customize things… which is nice, but geezo… wish I didn’t have to set ’em up. Give me lean and sleek, with just the basics. *super poke*
March 21, 2009 at 2:48 pm #173845FanaticMemberDoes anyone have any before and after screenshots so I can see the difference?

March 22, 2009 at 3:12 am #173861Doris KenneyParticipantMeh, like the last change, I guess I’ll get used to it. I kinda liked it last time where you had the chance to revert to the old layout for awhile. It gave users a chance to get used to it.
March 22, 2009 at 12:43 pm #173856PhilipModeratorYeah, I’m with Doris. I don’t mind either.
March 23, 2009 at 3:52 pm #173852YahooliganMemberRobert Scoble wrote an interesting post about the new Facebook design and how Facebook will NEVER listen to its users and SHOULDN’T.
March 23, 2009 at 5:31 pm #173860Doris KenneyParticipantInteresting concept – but I still don’t like the new design. As for leaving, no – I probably won’t – but I can say I spend a heck of a lot less time on FB than I did a year ago (before the first roll out of recent design changes).
March 26, 2009 at 12:14 pm #173847detn8rParticipantOh, they’re not done! After reading this article, it finally made sense to me why some don’t mind the new design — it’s probably those who use Twitter that can appreciate the new redesign. It’s very similar and I never really thought about that.
Seems like enough people have complained about the new design. It doesn’t seem like they’re losing the Twitter-style news feed, but revamping whats shown in the feed and the information that surrounds it. I’ve already noticed some small changes, such as the “Friends you may know” jumping to the top of the page, where it was at the bottom previously.
