how do you add downloads to your site?August 20, 2003 at 4:28 am #56884TigerbladeParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by BrdMc3i need help…
how do you add downloads to your site?just add a link to the file – copy this text to your site’s HTML and change the link to point to your file… (of course you obviously have to have it uploaded to your server). the download will open in a new window, then revert to the standard file download dialog box.
<a href="full url of your file goes here” target=”_blank”>Descriptive text here

August 20, 2003 at 4:18 pm #56866coolguyj2Memberwell what you wanna upload?? geocities and many other websites have 1Mb upload limit i.e. only a file of size 1Mb can be uploaded… for bigger files try this …. split the file and upload… you can use a file splitter or even use WinRar (http://www.rarlab.com) for it… also some files cannot be uploaded due to the extension problem… rename them or zip them… they will upload easily…

August 21, 2003 at 11:55 am #56853rustedtightMemberC’mon guys…. this thread is not providing any useful information for members.
BrdMc3 could you illuminate on your experiences and maybe provide comment on why you switched?
darkc0ne Your offsite help obviously got BrdMc3 out of a bind… could you maybe provide details here… else this thread is useless.

August 22, 2003 at 4:01 am #56892slntOPSMemberHOW DO U DO THE CURSUR EFFECT!! (on brdmc3’s site “have fun!” trails the cursor) i no it sounds dumb but i cant find the code anywhere!! plez help someone and yes i no if i right click on a site i can view its source but when i copy it to my site the cursor trail still dosent work!
August 22, 2003 at 4:54 am #56859DavidParticipantIMVHO Geocites and tripod aren’t ‘real’ websites. Learn HTML at http://www.w3schools.com and upload a site to http://www.brinkster.com you have more options and its much more configurable.
August 22, 2003 at 5:11 am #56891slntOPSMemberim using http://www.0catch.com to host my subdomian and i know some html, dhtml, xml, vbscript, and javascript and have gone to http://www.w3schools.com but im not good at creatin code for myself…. i can understand it if someone shows me or i see the source on another site, but i cant just take what i know and write a code for myself. that kinda eliminates the purpose of learning it though right? oh well… ill try and come up wit sumtin
August 23, 2003 at 5:57 am #56887Road_RunnerMemberFor the cursor effect, see http://www.countryheart37.com/geocursors.html. Note that the page has music. This page should be good enough. I use geocities but use HTML Editor, not Pagebuilder.
