my first couple productions using photoshop. what do you think? what could be improved?
if you want me to make something (anything, not necessarily signatures) tell me, itll give me a chance to practice my sig skills.December 12, 2004 at 5:08 am #108478
Not bad…not bad at all. I have never been good at image stuff. I have all this software (Fireworks, PSP, Photoshop) but I'm not good with them at all. If anyone has good tutorials for noobs like me, fell free to send them to me!December 12, 2004 at 7:09 am #108473Dr KimbleParticipant
They could use borders for starters. If you want some good tutorials you can check out Good Tutorials.com
Not too bad for a start though, keep messing around and learn what all the buttons do 😉December 12, 2004 at 7:33 am #108494SpikeMember
There is no help file or tutorial for Fireworks that I know of, and I spent a great deal of time searching for one on Fireworks. You just kinda have to know how to work them. I suggest fooling around a bit in each and see which you prefer.
Great images, though. I have a few, myself, spread out around the site. Also, see here for some of my more popular projects.December 13, 2004 at 12:08 am #108499
random thing I made for a friend
AND MY masterpiece.December 13, 2004 at 12:30 am #108467
Nicely Done, Vik. *golf clap* Not bad at all. I notice that a few are obviously colaberation pieces, but did you build the rain and such from scratch? Very well done. I'm teaching myself photoshoppin' and going to school for it next semester (If the stupid school doesn't give me that “The nurses need photoshop, so bug off” crap). Good-tutorials is a really nice site to find little nit picky things you're looking for and quite useful to boot. And I have no shame so I'm going to give a little plug for my own works. A lot of them being web layouts for guilds and the like…but hey it works.December 14, 2004 at 12:44 am #108500
yeah the “the_box” and rain ones are both handmade from scratch.
ummm oh yeah. I taught myself PS, I got bored with requesting sigs from others.
my current sig was made by a guy named parad0x at HTS.org, he is a freaking photoshop god.December 14, 2004 at 5:37 am #108479
Thanks for the tutorial site. I just tried one of them, and look what came out! Ok, not that impressive, but better than what I've been doing.
Also, just some random ones:
Hehe, the last one is so 1337. I think I did that one at 3 in the morning-literally.December 14, 2004 at 5:43 am #108468
Very nicely done then, Vik. BY the way, I do love your signiture, that fellow sure is talented.
When I worked at the TV station, we had a guy there that was insanely talented with Photoshop and did all the news boxes and such.
Colin *giggle* Lovin' the ghetto flames on the last picture! Looks like you're doing really well, the both of you.December 14, 2004 at 5:46 am #108480
Hehe, I did that last one all in free-draw and the line tool. Like I said, you dont really think very well at 3 in the morningDecember 14, 2004 at 5:51 am #108466DaJMan1800Member
I know now that mine would suck lol… first of all I don't know what to make, second of all I don't know how to use it.December 14, 2004 at 5:54 am #108481
Same with me. Sometimes I just get in a certain mood and I open up the ol' software (whichever one I feel like at the time) and just make stuff. It usually sucks but sometimes I make an okay one.December 14, 2004 at 6:02 am #108469
Yeah…I find myself looking for excuses to make things…like that BBB Baton picture…yeah. Heck, I go and compete in these cheesy little monthly neopets shop decorating contests just so that I have something to do. Currently, I'm making a visual walkthrough for a cheesy neopets game, Faerie Quest II…I couldn't find a decent one anywhere so I'm making my own and sending it to all the big neopets help pages.
Now -that- is desperateDecember 14, 2004 at 6:26 am #108458detn8rParticipant

Here is some advice: Don't get addicted to image making, it consumes you and has no remorse 😉
