MemberI know this is not a proper question but if you could use one chat system which would you use?
(I'm new to chat)
I've been using Skype for voice calls for about a year and have just signed up for a new ymail.com email address – The built in chat seems quite good on Yahoo and it links in with MSN.
I also have a Gmail account for business and have noticed this has chat too.
From what I can see AIM is the most popular.
It seems a pain to have all these chat ID's.
Which is the best for home use and which is the best for business?
Many thanks if you can give any opinions.

MemberThe “best” IM is the one your contacts are already using. If most of your contacts (home or work) are using AIM, then that is the best one for you to use, too.
If you find that you have contacts spread across multiple IM networks, you may want to consider one of the multi-network IM programs like Trillian or Digsby (for the PC) or Adium (for the Mac).
Note that with the multi-network IM programs, you'll still need to have an account on each system for it to work.
It is worth noting that there are a few networks that interoperate already. Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger work together (somewhat) as do iChat, AIM and Google Chat (included with Gmail).

MemberFor business IMing purposes, I use Brosix IM, which is a secure instant messaging program. I am a blogger for their website. It provides a secure network to chat with co-workers or others who are allowed to be connected to your network. You can visit the Brosix website at: Brosix Enterprise Instant Messenger – Secure Corporate Instant Messaging for companies There is also a free version (Brosix Public), which can be downloaded at: Brosix PUBLIC Instant Messenger
