Yahoo! has announced there will be soon a new
release to their Enterprise Yahoo! Instant Messaging Software. This
more secure version of the free Yahoo! Instant Messenger contains
more features aimed at business users, including advanced
administration, security (message encryption) and archiving.
Currently, Yahoo! is pushing this messenger for
employees to view who is available at a certain time and communicate
their ideas to each other within the business real time, be it in
the same room or building, or in another building, or even in
another continent. To maintain a more professional image, existing
e-mail addresses and employee names are used, rather than Yahoo!
accounts, and there is more control over how the system works.
Yahoo! has now announced relationships with WebEX
Communications to offer in their release full conferencing
solutions, such as application sharing, telephone conferencing,
voice conversations, and file sharing, on top of the existing
Instant Messaging services.
