After a bit of research found out that is prolly due the file’ing system of your HD.. if its FAT32, it doesn’t allow the file sharing… you will need to change it to NFTS.
I haven’t tried this yet.. But this is the only reason that I found out.

October 20, 2006 at 5:51 pm #153475PsychoMemberFAT32 is probably the reason. I think it depends on the size of the HD and whether it is very fragmented. A slow computer will take hours to convert FAT32 to NTFS. You may like to backup some important data before doing it. BTW, a sharing folder only works if you and your contact BOTH have NTFS. I have NTFS and I can create sharing folders. One of my contacts uses FAT32 therefore what I put in the sharing folder for him is unaccessible to him.
November 13, 2007 at 11:13 am #153478aleksandar2ParticipantHey guys
I have a similar problem with my MSN, I cant share folders probably because my drive C is on FAT32, but my drive D is NTSF, so can someone please tell me if there is a way just to tell MSN to use my drive D instead of C?
Thank You

In AdvanceNo, I don’t think that’s possible. You’re better off converting your C: drive to NTFS, which is more robust than FAT32 anyway. Before you start the conversion, tidy up your C: drive by emptying the junk files, and if possible do a defrag first. Converting to NTFS will not harm your data or programs in any way.
- Go to Start > Run. Type cmd and hit Enter.
- At the command prompt, type the following, where drive letter is the drive that you want to convert: convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs
For example, type the following command to convert drive C to NTFS: convert c: /fs:ntfs
Note If the operating system is on the drive that you are converting, you will be prompted to schedule the task when you restart the computer because the conversion cannot be completed while the operating system is running. When you are prompted, click Yes. - When you receive the following message at the command prompt, type the volume label of the drive that you are converting, and then press ENTER: The type of the file system is FAT.
Enter the current volume label for drive drive letter. - When the conversion to NTFS is complete, you receive the following message at the command prompt: Conversion complete.
- Quit the command prompt.
