I see a benefit of the c-mode but i have to agree about gawd mode been too drastic.
However it would be useful if a person was quick enough to enable it when a person floods the room fast with this new field 252 room flood thats disconnecting most people.
I’m on a fixed wireless connection thats not the best and will admit the room flood disconnects me on occasion, but i do feel taking away everything but typing in the room as to be nothing short of been out of the room booted anyways.
I’m a frequent chatter in “Yahoo! Chat Help:1” and all i have been seeing the past 3 days is “Y!mLite” users coming into the room booting everybody that either uses YahELite , YaZak or Yahoo! Messenger then posting link to go get Y!mLite after these people reconnect, sorry but i would rather give someone the choice of what client or addon to use, not to be bullied by other users, specially not in a room thats there for users to help others with Yahoo! Messenger/chat related issues.
Now well it’s good to have such programs as YTK , YahELite, YaZak, Y!mLite and YAM out there, i feel some people take the whole thing too far at times. To be honest yahoo! should have sorted out the whole booting thing ages ago and i commend anybody who goes out of their way to help people defend themselves against it but booting people to use your software is just wrong and against all the reasons they made it in the first place.
When you have the YTK Lite up i will give it a whirl and give you feedback on it like i do most software releases on all sorts of platforms and genres.
Good luck!
December 21, 2006 at 4:14 am #155870whatwasithinkingMemberThe reason I thought one needed to use a second chat client for the second account was per your instructions. I know of no way to log into Messenger with two accounts. Hence the only way to have two ID’s in the room to inable viewing text is to log in with another client.
Toggling back and forth between C mode and gawd mode also seems awkward since there is no way to know when you are being booted so you can put up defences and take them down at will. There is also the issue of voice laggers which would then require the room to be muted AND invisible.
December 22, 2006 at 10:19 pm #155871whatwasithinkingMemberWell…I plunked down my money for this thing…and…nothing!!! After installing the program the activation window pops up. I put in my code and then…nothing! The window disappears and …nothing! So I open the program and it wants my code again….same thing ad infinitum…nothing!!! Thanks a lot!!
December 22, 2006 at 11:05 pm #155801imported_Ven0mMemberSounds to me you have a firewall blocking access to the activation server. You should post about this on the YTK Pro Forums and our support staff can better help you. 🙂

Now look, let’s be mature here. If you can’t get it activated it’s definitely an issue preventing it from happening on your end. So if you haven’t activated this yet send me a support e-mail or post on our forum, I’ve received neither from you but did receive a regnow support e-mail since you contacted them instead of [email protected]. Contact support not regnow, they can’t help you.

December 23, 2006 at 1:09 pm #155772Jeff HesterKeymasterWas wondering What the webcam options are. like:
Does it have only let friends and or safe user requests, unknown user requests?
Always allow to view list?
always ignore request list?
only let people in chat rooms i am in view? once they or I leave the room they get booted off.I used to know so many people that got ytunnel becouse of these settings and others.
December 23, 2006 at 1:32 pm #155840Torseq Tech.MemberAt this time there isn’t any Webcam enhancements in YTK Pro or in YTK Lite other than the Webcam Checker that the Pro has. We believe that Messenger’s controls for this are sufficient enough but more could be done.
You can bet that here really soon YTK Pro and Lite will have many webcam options. The last two things to be added will be full cam support and voice lag protection. The last one is already done but still being tested and the first is done as far as the features we’re going to offer. In total I’d say we’ll have 7 to 8 cam options and more if Yahoo! decides to extend the protocol to allow for more to be done.

Show Yahoo!, LCS and WLM friend’s status messages on-screen in IM windows (like all versions of Yahoo did before Yahoo 7.0).This is one of Yahoo!’s old features that i miss the most…… (I liked when it appeared in the IM window) So was wondering if it was ever added since i don’t use Yahoo! Chat and this would be the one reason to make me purchase YTK, since i really miss that feature!
December 23, 2006 at 2:51 pm #155841Torseq Tech.MemberIf we ever add that back, Hated, I’ll be sure to let you know. You wouldn’t need to purchase YTK Pro because chances are if we were to add it back it’d end up in Lite. I’ll look into what can be done.
December 23, 2006 at 3:05 pm #155773Jeff HesterKeymasterThere are many people that will use YTK with webcam options. put a few in the YTK lite to get people to buy tho pro to get more webcam features.

Sorry..didn’t see the link tucked away in the very lower left hand corner…like you couldn’t put it in the main menu somewhere??? Most people don’t keep looking below the copyright!! If you’re selling a product put the darn support link up where people can see it. Even after you posted the screenshot I still couldn’t find it for 5 minutes. A person shouldn’t have to look so hard to find it, or navigate to the download site after already purchasing it. I know…I know..it’s also in the EULA, rtf file too, but how many people are going to open the programs/ytk folder to find it?? And, it’s not even a LINK just an e-mail addy!
December 23, 2006 at 4:49 pm #155802imported_Ven0mMemberWell, you could always try the YTK Pro Community Support Forum if you didn’t want to mess with the e-mail. There is a real friendly and helpful support staff as well (also there’s a place to post all feature requests you may have). =)
December 23, 2006 at 5:42 pm #155842Torseq Tech.MemberWhatwasIthinking, we’re not attempting to hide support access to customers at all if that’s what you’re implying. Also, for the third time now you’ve been told that a COMMUNITY SUPPORT FORUM does indeed exist and all problems seem to disappear when you simply register there and post your trouble(s) if you’ve got any.
The community support forum isn’t hard to miss and contact information usually is out of the way and not in plain view, this isn’t quite uncommon. There isn’t a need to continue to act the way you’re acting. If you’re able to repost my images you’re quite capable of finding a support link at the bottom of a web page and clicking on it.
As for e-mail tech support, Brock and I, the two developers of this program handle it all ourselves. When you e-mail support you talk to us directly and not somebody being paid to answer questions or complaints. We do this on top of development and on top of tending to our forum and managing the web site and servers. If you need support you have two choices, one is through e-mail and the other is through the community forum (which I’ve directed you towards before). Let’s not make it anymore difficult than it has to be.
I only posted those screen shots because you stated that the support links weren’t ever there to begin with when they were, you just weren’t able to find them. Whether this was your fault or mine is irrelevant. Let’s drop the heat from this thread now, it’s gone off topic and this isn’t a place for YTK Pro support, this is a thread on a completely separate forum tracking release information and other happenings related to YTK Pro.
