This is interesting… John Chow invited me to a new social network called Zurker that considers itself better than Facebook. It’s current in private beta, but I am inviting you to check it out.
What’s intriguing about Zurker is that the members are the owners. Each member owns one “vShare” in the company. Once they reach 1 million members, the company will officially incorporate and the vShares will convert to actual shares. It’s a fascinating experiment in democratic capitalism, and a radical departure from Facebook, Google+ et. al.
Consider this. On Facebook, the members are the product. You are being “sold” to the advertisers. On Zurker, the business model is turned around.
Will it work? I don’t know. I have signed up and will check it out. My initial impressions are that it still needs a lot of polishing before it’s ready for public release. But it IS interesting, and I like the concept of competition. Facebook is not the Internet.
Cool Thanks Jeff!! I am making an account in it!!!
