No, never noticed that happening.
To answer Spike's point re ISP's upload limits:
We don't see this as being an issue. This measure was designed by ISPs to conserve their bandwidth and to prohibit commercial use of home broadband connections (as they charge more for commercial bandwidth). Therefore most home ISPs prohibit the use of a home connection for commercial use, but using izimi doesn't constitute commercial use. In any case, more and more technologies (such as P2P, IM, VoIP) are demanding an always-on internet connection and the transmission of data up and down the connection, even while the user is not sitting in front of their machine. This is driving the infrastructure providers to have to provide for this market, so more and more ISPs will relax these conditions. John Wood, izimi – Self publish
Hi – izimi – Self publish might be a solution for you. It's FREE and it allows you to set your PC up as a personal web server. It's totally focused on serving just files right now but the ability to host other things (such as sites) is in the development pipeline. izimi was launched just the other day on 5 March 07.
If you look at my previous posts on BBB, you will see some months ago, that izimi was an IM product. Well we developed that and proved to ourselves and the powers that be that we can do it. We've now brought out a web 2.0 product that allows you to publish files (any type, any size) onto the internet, with just a few mouse clicks, directly from your PC. The files are searchable via izimi – Self publish but the point is that you don't have to upload them anywhere.
Soon, along with many other enhancememts, we will bring back IM to reinforce the social networking aspect of izimi, so watch this space!
