MemberYou built a marvelous site here Jeff, it’s a pleasure to see your users in action. My comment on web chat is simply that people are the same on or off the internet: some good, some bad, most in between with a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. Remember that Donald Duck cartoon?
My intention is to link to the company of like minded individuals. We all have a lot to learn and only each other (and a few books) to learn from. Finding old friends and making new ones works with IM or discussion groups like these.
My only disappointment with the site so far is that so many users don’t file a profile. Aren’t we the shy ones?Mark

MemberIM was great for letting our field personnel contact technical support. The line was never busy, and the message was waiting when you got back to your desk. No one is always available, but it beat the phone for contacting office personnel.

MemberLove is where you find it, life is what you make it, people are who they are. Don’t you just love a good cliche? There is a reason these things become cliche.
Aside from the morality of the issue, lying is always counter productive. “What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve”. Don’t you just love a good quote too?
Sh-t happens, it’s hard to tell who people are and what they are thinking when you are looking them in the eye, never mind reading what they’ve written. The web has re-invented the love letter and is the greatest boon to literacy since the Bible.
If the guy was who you really wanted he would have accepted your position for what it was. Ignore the insults, move on, have fun, que sera, sera.
