Yes you can transfer people from your one account to another account. you can go to http://chat.yahoo.com and log in from there in your original id. Then you will see this “Friends in Chat” and “Edit” button next to it. Click “Edit” and there you will find all the users on your messenger list. Once you get their ids, you can add them up into your new id leisurely.
There is another software called buddy adder which transfers a particular friend or whole friends list from one of your ids to another id. I am not sure if any one needs it especialy when we have this “Edit” option in http://chat.yahoo.com but, if you need the file then I might tell you the link. But, I wuld prefer the first option rather than using a third party software for this.
First of all there is no higher end PC user or lower end PC user or middle end PC user.
Secondly he can trace your IP address only if you had done atleast one of the following things that night:
1: Watched his/her cam or let him/her watch your cam.
2: Had a voice conference with him/her.
3: Sent or received any file from him/her.
4: Clicked on any link he/she sent to u.
5: If you were booted in the middle of the conversation or sometime latter also.
Even if he knows your IP address a lot depends on the internet connection you are using. Dial up connections get a new IP address every time you connect. Cable connection change the IP address almost every 24 hours. If its LAN or broadband connection, I presume ( not sure ) the IP address remains quite permanent.
Even if he traced your IP address, he can find only the phone number, email address and the office address of your ISP company. Offcourse its tough and almost impossible to find your home address from the ISP company and its pretty illegal also unless you are a cyber cop trying to trace a terrorist. So just be cool and make sure that you DON'T accept any file or click on unknown links while chatting. Get a firewall also.
P.S. Congrats for your first post
P.S.S. The guy with whom you had the debate was only “bragging”. There is a difference between translating words into deeds which very few people can do. So chill and don't worry.
Sorry Miss.. your id must hv been locked by Yahoo! for some unknown reason. May be some one was trying to hack into your id by givin your personal information or wrong password or might be a simple yahoo error from their server side. This stuff happpens so nothing to worry..
It happened twice with me. The first time it happened with me, it took me 2 days to get my id back and relogin. The second time it happened, it took me 2 hours to log back in. Wait for minimum 12 hours.
So the only thing you can do is to chat with your friends in sum other id and relogin to this id after some time..By the way you can log into your own id using Yahoo! Chat 2.0 from Yahoo! website.
All the best. !!!
Problem may be from Yahoo! server.
Hey sorry to check this post so late :p but yeah.. my computer was screwed up :p. It was hacked by Magic PS 1.43 then it had that Wagle Virus in it and then one of the installlation was already running in the taskbar..
But now its perfect. 😉
Hiding IP address == Get a decent firewall !!!! Its a must.
Getting IP address == 1. When we receive files from user thru file transfer or watch some one's cam or do a voice conferrence, their IP address can be easily found if we type netstat -n in Start>Run>cmd.
2. There is a software called IP Vision Pro by which you can get the IP address of a person by sending them a link.
3. One can see the IP address from the sender by email ( some email clients like rediffmail or indiatimes email dont support it ) by looking at the full headers.
So get urself a nice firewall and just relax n chill.. Oh yeah.. DON'T receive any files from any strangers. and after receiving that file immediately scan it using the latest Anti virus before opening it.
Anyways.. Thanks for the info @ DangerBoy, but its a girl as people have talked toher on phone. About the link if any of you wanna know about the pic its in the profile pic of one of my ids…. http://profiles.yahoo.com/lll_cyber_cop_lll
Thanks any ways. But if 2-3rd of the rest of the world is doing sin then we atleast I cant let some one do this. I will try my best to stop as much as I can when I come across such situations.
Ok. I installed a firewall called Neo Watch. Since then I hv been receiving reports like IP address xxx.xx.xxx.xxx has pinged your computer. How do I know whether its a serious issue like some one trying to hack my computer or its just a network connection ?
Nice suggestion and thanks for it. I don't think I hv something wrong in my computer settings coz this kind of stuff happens once in 10 times, although every time it happens its just irritating. About the connection, I hv the LanT-1 connection so, no issues with it also. So I agree with you regarding the server waiting for being reacquired.
Anyways.. I will try your suggestion about loggin in a different id. Thanks any ways.
Which is the other version of new Beta 6.0 and where can I find it ?
WOW…. Great suggestion zhugeliang.Quote:quote:

Te amo, te amo, si el amor fuera dolor, estaria agonizando, si fuera color fuera arcoiris,
Are you scolding me in some language which I don't understand :eek:
I just wanted help regarding something which I find cool…
Precious Moments is offcourse a romantic and cute IMvironment. Yahoo Chess is realy amazing when you are battling with some one with brains not some one who doesnt know the difference between the king and the soldier. umm.. I love Peanuts;) but the IMvironment can be much more better. But the most interesting IMvironment is the Falling hearts.. Nothing can beat its “kiss” ;). Perhaps a perfect kiss 😉
Hi, lets try this…
First if you hv new Yahoo! Messenger 6.0, then go to messenger > privacy options> messages. There you will find in the third column which says:
“Show messages from users not from your messenger list “
and check ” in a single box”.
Then you can do another thing to stop PM booting.. Go to Ignore list and check ” Ignore any one who is not in my friend's list or something like that”
I hope it will help…
I know that Yahoo tunnel is bootable. But I wuldlike to experiment this. I don't know if some one using Yahoo chat 2.0 from the website can be booted from the chat room. Another thing you can try is, you can make some aliases or nicks and you can be in the same room…( One nick by your messenger and another nick by using Yahoo Chat 2.0 from the website ) So if some1 boots you off in one id, you can always be present there in another id…U can also try Yahoo java chat. If you cant be in the same room with the different nick then try another id.

After a careful study, I found the Join User in a Chat room under Chat Menu in the Main Messenger window box.
I don't find it there… All I find are : New, Send, Save As…, Print, Privacy Options, Preferences and Close. I was looking under the Chat Menu in the Main Chat Room Window box.
Join User in a Chat room option was present there in Yahoo! Messenger 5.6 but I don't think its up there.. Anyways..

But what if I don't know in what room the user is if he doesn't accept the pm's? How can I know where to join him without he conveying it to me?
its simple. Just go to any room. Type /goto username or /follow username in the main window ( provided you know the username of the person you wanna follow ) and then boom, you are in the same room as the username is.:D
