Easiest solution to unusual problems like this is to COMPLETELY uninstall YM, delete the YM folder in Program Files, and then Reinstall YM. My best guess is that it would solve the problem since it is very hard to be too scientific and logical to identify the causes of such problems.

i managed to configure my hotmail account and yahoo account on outlook XP but i still need a help about how to send email when i’m not connected to the internet ( as i know that when i click send bottom it must connect aitomatically and send it than it will disconnect ) but this doesn’t happen with me it tell me errors connecting to the server… that’s why i’m asking for a help
moreover i need to know how can i keep all my email on a cd (save the inbox in outlook on a cd) than after formatting my pc i can keep them back on my pc
i hope that you undertand me this time 🙂
thank you for advanceIt would be good for you to just sue Outlook Express to receive, prepare, send, and save emails. To learn about how to use it, just click on “Help” menu item and read through each section in the “Contents” tab. That would give you a very good idea as to what it can do and how to do it. It may also have a “tutorial” on how to use it.
It is very simple. Keep in mind to NOT to try to do it all at one time; it is best to focus on one thing, learn it well, before moving on to next topic. For example, learn how to prepare a email first, then learn how to send it, and then how to save them etc.
Hope this helps.
pkorisaMemberi followed the advices, uninstalled YM 7.5 completely, and reinstalled 8.0 — it works like a charm now. thanks.
pkorisaMemberthank you for the info hatedJ… and CChris.. PKM
pkorisaMemberI honestely don’t remember. I might not have – just upgraded. If I unistall it now, and reinstall YM 8.0, would I loose all the names I have in my YM ? Thanks
pkorisaMemberYou posted your note at 4″30 am EST and at 9:33 AM EST I saw it and voted. To my surprise, I saw “Occasional” had 100%. When I looked a deeper, i found that I was the FIRST one to vote — in 5 hours of posting time!!!! That’s a surprise for this forum!!!!!
pkorisaMemberI got YM 8.0 two days back. The Voice Conference does not work. And this morning, Ym can’t even sign me in!!! If this is good, I’d hate to see “bad!!!!”

For me it’s only 4pm, so I’ve another 8 hours or so of thumb-twiddling. :crying:You are absolutely right E_K!!! I got up around 7:00 and my YM is working just fine – may be a little better/faster at 7:30 am.
POINT — nothing can be that BAD that a GOOD NIGHT’s sleep can’t cure!!!!
July 23, 2006 at 11:30 am in reply to: And the Yahoo! Server goes down… (currently now working!) #148629pkorisaMemberWell, it is 7:30 am, ET, Sunday July 23. Everything — Yahoo, My Yahoo, Yahoo Mail, and YM 7.5 — are ALL working this morning here in west coast of Florida, USA!!!!
I had also reinstalled YM7.5 once – but reinstalled over my existing YM7.5 without uninstalling anyhting. Looks like that did not do any damage, if anything it appears to have speeded up the sign-in process. But a new problem might be creeping up. I generally go to the web using my Firefox Mozilla 1.5. This morning when I open two copies of Mozilla, it is having an error and closing it down!
Else, all is OK here. Just reporting to let all know.

Cheers
I read your referenced article, and to my surprise it says thjat the problem was solved by 1:00 pm PT, which would be 4:00 PM ET, but it is still not available at my place, at 10:42 ET! Also, it said mostly US locations affected, but I was talking to friends in NewZeeland and it was not available there either! So, I am really confused as to what Yahoo is doing!!!!

July 22, 2006 at 11:01 pm in reply to: And the Yahoo! Server goes down… (currently now working!) #148626pkorisaMemberIt is almost 7:00 pm, Saturday here in USA, EST. My YM 7.5 logged me off (without me knowing) some time in the middle of day, may be around 3:00 pm (best guess). It was working fine in the morning. My regular Yahoo and Yahoo Mail works fine. I thhought may be some files gone astray, so I reinstalled YM 7.5 (without uninstalling anything).
Now I see that Yahoo server is the culprit! I hope, in my haste, I have not done some damage to some files by reinstalling 7.5 on top of existing YM 7.5.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.pkorisaMemberEagle_Kiwi wrote:I also have YM 7.5.0.333 running here on XP(Home)-SP2 with no problems whatsoever. (And I’m a “heavy user”!)(In fact – before I read that it was for XP and up – I installed it easily on my W98SE PC, and ran it there with no problem too!! 😉 )
HI Ian, you may see my other posting here, but I just updated to 7.5.0.819 last night, and I am having all kinds of problems that weren’t there before with my 7.0 version. Some of the problems are: web cam freezing up during chat; Voice chat becoming unresponsive; and names on my Messenger List are not appearing in BOLD when they are ONLINE (like the perosn I was chatting with when these problems occurred this morning). It just appears YM problems are so unpredictable and so localized – based on individual machines! Strange in deed!!!pkorisaMemberHi Champ, what’s alot? Welcome to BBB. Check out the “Basics of IM” here, that would give you a nice intro to the processes and the resources here.
pkorisaMemberHi Rewclaus, have you tried to use a Restore Point for a back date when your computer and the Messengers were behaving correctly? That may get you a good starting point.
