Thanks so much for the ideas, Doris! I’m working them through… will let you know what works for me. The Java update did nothing 🙁
But at least it’s updated! Oh – and that made me update some other things as well. I feel almost cutting edge now – lol.
PolarBearNPRParticipantThat was the most meh game of the whole competition! What a waste of (my) time. Spain was the better team over the course of the series, but in the final, yawn.
Well, until the next World Cup games… G, I assume you’ll report on them again, reviving this thread. But what will we remember most about this contest? Perhaps the dubious vuvuzela and now Will it blend?
PolarBearNPRParticipantWelcome aRchOs! Things are pretty good ’round these parts. Glad you stopped by, and even more so that you posted a hello post! Anything strike your fancy as you look around the site? Discussions? Topics? News? Games? World Cup? Lots of varied things to check out here. Let us know what you think and feel free to chime in wherever you’d like. I look forward to seeing more from you!
PolarBearNPRParticipant*whispers* Ah well, game well played but we’re out. There are many more teams still in! Argentina is now the one I’d like to see take the cup. How about you?
*whispers because my voice is lost from a cold and yelling this afternoon*
PolarBearNPRParticipantUSA vs Ghana – tomorrow… 26 June at 2:00pm (EST I’m assuming) on ABC if you’re watching it there.
Goooooooo!
PolarBearNPRParticipantw00t! Another chance to wish you a happy birthday! So… Happy Birthday!!!!! Have a wonderful, wonderful celebration of you!
PolarBearNPRParticipantGraham! Happy Birthday! As noted elsewhere… I hope this (was) a super day for you and wish you all the best for the upcoming year.
PolarBearNPRParticipantHappy Birthday Andrew; MrOats; King of the World! I hope you have a wonderful day – celebrate and all! Maybe you’re off school and work? You deserve a day of rest and a day when folks show and tell you just how good it is to have you in the world.
Have a great day and a fantastic year!
February 11, 2010 at 11:22 pm in reply to: how to make someone realize that im not her toy!! #176711PolarBearNPRParticipantI gotta agree with MrOats here… It sounds like she’s getting serious about her studies and her future career and that’s good stuff. It also sounds like she is making new friends who presumably are in a similar situation. As much as you want it to be as it was, things are changing. This doesn’t mean you two are through! It just means your expectations are going to have to change. You may need to give her space, allow her to do what she needs to do for her education and her career. Reminders of things you did together, fun times, little jokes you share, quick texts or IMs or other messages might help – but not intrude on her need to be studious.
Know that all relationships change over time… if it’s meant to be, it will weather the change and be stronger on the other side. And if it’s time to move on – you’ll know that, too.
PolarBearNPRParticipantAnt? That you?
And regardless of who you are – be careful!!!!! That’d scare the begeezus outta me!
PolarBearNPRParticipantI did vote – on the one that I have done. Although I didn’t do it well the first time until half a wine skin had been downed. Then – no fear so no problem :p
PolarBearNPRParticipantHey there Spike! Great to see you *back* if only to bitch :p heh – nah, tis good to hear what you’re up to, and what the future may hold for ya. Welcome back!
PolarBearNPRParticipantYep – 3D ran $3 more – then of course we “recycled” the glasses by tossing them into a huge, labeled box. I’m glad it’s out in 2D because yeah, 3D can be hard on the eyes – for many reasons! And it will never be “just (a) plain old movie.” It really is something different – and in this case, different is great!
PolarBearNPRParticipantOkay – I just returned from Avatar. Not to beat a dead horse, but yeah – amazing graphics (seen in 3D regular screen), interesting story, nice influences from a societal and an environmental standpoint, and more gaming-related scenes, settings and characters than I thought possible. Definitely my type of movie! My 14-year-old fell asleep during it though. He’s a sci-fi fan so not sure why, other than he said parts of it bored him. Of course, if he ends up with a fever later, I’ll know the real reason. MrEggSalad can give his review if he’d like as he was my other companion to the movie.
More? More? I hope you’re right about that mwro mou. Bring ’em on!
PolarBearNPRParticipantMMLC – Multi-Media Learning Center (library, in other words) I’m the coordinator of it, so get to teach grades k-5 pretty much whatever I want – of course the goal being utilizing library and research stuffs, appreciation of books and like that. It’s lots of fun (for me) and the kids and teachers seem to enjoy it as well. And it allows me time to do Science club and Building Bonanza as well as working with some kids that need extra help for one reason or another. A great job for me now, just doesn’t pay *enough*
By the way – my courses were through Loyola Marymount out your way, Jeff.
