At your service!
I tested the news forums on my wireless PDA and they WORKED! I’ve attached some screenshots I took using Remote Display for Windows CE powertoy.
I hope you get it working for the regular forums soon. The mobile skin is MUCH faster!

February 22, 2008 at 2:51 pm in reply to: [HOW TO] Tether your iPhone: EDGE internet on your laptop #167409YahooliganMemberYou must be joking. Why would anyone want to do this on EDGE? EDGE is the dark cloud over an otherwise great product (the iPhone). I’m gonna wait until they release the 3G/4G iPhone before I even consider buying one.

Messenger for Vista #167349YahooliganMemberPhilip;226961 wrote:Perhaps Yahoo can, and should, learn a thing or two from Microsoft in this respect. Look at how Windows Live Messenger is evolving. Microsoft never releases beta (or even alpha) versions just “for the heck of it.” In fact they went the other way and really clamped down on the beta version of WLM9 when they found out that it was leaked on the Internet.I feel this is the correct way to go. To release beta versions which are severely crippled (like YM for Vista) and with hardly any features and tons of bugs isn’t very becoming of Yahoo. Sorry, but that’s how I feel. Give me WLM any time.
I don’t think they released beta version of Yahoo! Messenger for Vista “just for the heck of it.” It was demoed to the public over a year ago, and wasn’t released until 9 months later.
Microsoft doesn’t really do public beta testing. They do private beta testing, then expand it to a larger and larger circle of testers. By the time it leaks out to the general populus, it’s really more of a release candidate than a beta version.

YahooliganMemberNice. How did you setup that profile?? Unlike most of the crap on myspace, it looks halfway decent.
YahooliganMemberThere are a bunch out there, but here are some of the big ones
- Bebo – Popular in UK, Ireland, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands
- Flickr – photo sharing; now owned by Yahoo!
- Friendster – one of the oldest, but didn’t catch the wave like Myspace or Facebook
- Hi5 – Popular in Latin America and with Asian teens
- imeem – not sure what to make of their swiss-army knife approach
- Jaiku – lifestream; now owned by Google
- Last.fm – music social network
- LinkedIn – Business social network
- Meetup.com – Groups that typically organize real world meetings (but not exclusively)
- MyBlogLog – widget-based social network; now owned by Yahoo
- orkut – popular in Brazil and India; owned by Google
- Twitter – microblogging or lifestream
- Windows Live Spaces – Microsoft’s blogging/social network
There are many more, but these are some of the more popular.
EDIT: Doh! Tigerblade beat me to it! But at least MY post has links. :p
YahooliganMemberI usually get really clear quality with Skype, but some issues with Skype that might effect performance. Maybe one of the participants was being used as a “super node?”
YahooliganMemberYou can have as many as 1,000 contacts in your Yahoo! Messenger contact list.
Personally, I think that’s MORE than enough for any normal person. I don’t have 1,000 friends!
YahooliganMemberI hope Yahoo stays independent of Micro$oft. If Microsoft bought them, a lot of good stuff would end up getting wasted, discarded, or forgotten.
YahooliganMemberSorry to see David and Spike retire. Cheers to all the alumni. It’s a tough job running a forum.
And welcome back, sarahtowny!
YahooliganMemberSweet! I’m in too!
YahooliganMemberI still think they should say no to Microsoft. Otherwise, what would they name the new company? Micro-hoo? Ya-soft?
