Hello
is there any driver or program that will act as a logitech webcam?
so that I can take any video and send it as if it were a webcam.
I am particularly interested in sending video through MSN messenger.
thanks…February 20, 2005 at 12:11 am #115073ArsenalParticipantYou need a webcam. You think your monitor can take pictures of you? I don’t really get what your asking.
February 20, 2005 at 12:15 am #115066DrBroccoliParticipantI think what is he saying is, is there a way to “substitute” video as a live stream and send as if it where live stream through MSN messenger
February 20, 2005 at 12:19 am #115064AwesomeSauceParticipantTry SplitCam.
February 20, 2005 at 12:21 am #115074ArsenalParticipantOh, I thought he meant he didn’t want to buy a webcam but still wanted its capabilities so I was like wtf dude?

All SplitCam does, is allow you to use your webcam on more than one application at the same time (which is hella neat).ShadowdogMU’s post explaining was correct, as I see it anyway. With that said, I can’t see there being a way.
February 20, 2005 at 8:55 pm #115071kron_19792000MemberIf you want to broadcast a vid stored on your computer. Then get camtasia from http://www.techsmith.com/download/studiodefault.asp?lid=DownloadCamtasiaStudio
P.S: If I remember right MartinBradley posted a free software to do the same a while ago in the Yahoo section.
February 20, 2005 at 9:47 pm #115063MartinBradleyMemberYes, that’s right. It was Virtual Camera.
February 20, 2005 at 10:09 pm #115062detn8rParticipantI stand corrected. Very nice. 🙂
May 29, 2005 at 12:03 pm #115075baronMemberDoes anyone here know how to register Virtual Camera????????????????
May 30, 2005 at 9:21 pm #115067DrBroccoliParticipantTo register for the full version? If you mean that then you need to purchase the full program from the link provided by MartinBradley, if you go to the download section you should see the Buy Now! button.

Then in a program like MSN Messenger, when selecting a Web Cam device, select “Splitcam Capture” and the video playing in Splitcam will act as a webcam through MSN messenger.
Oh, and it’s free. 🙂
May 31, 2005 at 12:18 pm #115076baronMemberSplitcam doesnt support *.wmv files. Do you know any programs I can send movies to my friends as a webcam? I mean a program for free!!!!!!
June 12, 2005 at 4:14 am #115068DrBroccoliParticipantso I was looking for another question to another post and I saw this,

Amazing that I remember all the posts I look at and months later I find a solution and remember about the post!
July 9, 2005 at 8:19 pm #115072kron_19792000MemberI do not know if this will work for a .wmv file but I remember I had a problem when I tried to play a .avi file. This is what I did.
Windows media player>options>performance>performance
At the the bottom of that screen you will see a drag bar for video acceleration, set it to none.
Then try playing the vid. That should work. -
