luv amy xxxxxxxxxDecember 31, 2003 at 7:09 pm #86787shifterMemberDJ already linked you to the answer above. Have you tried this suggestion?
Quote:quote:Originally posted by John McCHi there I understand some of you are still having difficulties using MSN Messenger.
I would like to suggest you to please update your oleaut files – http://www.macros.com/oleaut.htm and if necessary which is’nt always, then try to download MSN Messenger from site: http://messenger.microsoft.com
In addition, I would also recommend downloading the most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, even if you are not using it as your default browser. You can download Microsoft Internet Explorer from: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.asp
Please come back when this has fixed messenger and tell others that this is a proper fix… nothing as frustrating finding and trying a lot of different answers only to find out they didnt work.
Good luck
John ;):)
It seems to be the fix for most users with this problem. If this doesn’t help, please at least give us your OS version so we can offer further support.

Windows 98, according to another thread amyb posted in.
amyb, you already created this thread about your problem. Please post any relevant information about your problem here, and not in other threads (even though they might be about the same problem). 🙂
To sum things up, you have an older version of oleaut32.dll. You need to update it. Simply download and run the Visual Basic 6.0 SP5 runtime library from Microsoft.
