I got this message in my yahoo mail today, I’m fairly certain it has a virus attached. Please be careful if you get it and don’t open the attachment. It looks pretty real.
You have successfully updated the password of your Yahoo account.
If you did not authorize this change or if you need assistance with your account, please contact Yahoo customer service at: [email protected]
Thank you for using Yahoo!

I do not believe that’s a legitimate address. The only Yahoo! Company based address I know of that ends in “@yahoo.com” is [email protected], you might want to write that one and report this e-mail.

I think though, that a normal, light internet user, might accidentally open it up because they wouldn’t know about the different addresses Yahoo has.

There is only Yahoo! Customer Care.
June 29, 2005 at 9:01 pm #124890Eagle_KiwiMemberBelow is a GENUINE email from Yahoo, re password changing.
(This was back in January.. they may have since changed wording. And the “AU” is unique to my location… may be “US” or “UK” etc for you).If u receive one of these and HAVEN’T changed your password, the important bit is the IP number at the bottom, showing from where password change was made.
If it’s yours, then it WAS “you” – otherwise, it may help for tracking whoever did.
(To trace an IP #, enter it in 3rd box on THIS page.)Your Yahoo! ID is: eagle_kiwi
