Enable Idle Status
For some reason, MSN Messenger has the ability to distinguish Idle status from Away, however, both are given the name Away. For those who don’t know, Idle means the user has not interacted with the computer for a certain time period, while Away means that the user has explicitly set their status as Away. This tweak will let you distinguish Idle contacts from those who have set their status as Away.
Open up Resource Hacker again, and navigate to the String Table.
- In 3, Line 38, change “(Away)” to “(Idle)”. Compile the script, but don’t save just yet.
- Navigate to 7, Line 101, and do the same thing. Compile and now you can save the file.
Alternatively, if you are having difficulties finding the above entries, I recommend using Resource Hacker’s Search (CTRL+F) function to assist you in your efforts.
Edit: I don’t know if credit is due to anyone, as I already knew this but I just copied and pasted it this time, so.. credit to whoever wrote this 😛
