The only updates which you should definately download are the ones which are labelled as Critical Updates. These are essential for the security and stability of your computer.
The language updates, Windows Messenger and Windows Media Player updates will all be in the Recommended Updates catagory. These are not selected by default and are not required. They are simply optional componants which you can choose to install if you want. But if you never plan on using them, you don’t need to download them. For example, I never download Windows Messenger, as I don’t use it.
Also, Windows Update will only find updates which your computer needs. Therefore the results on the two different computers will be different.
