8-8-2006 buddy spy does not seem to work.

I can not get buddy spy to work. hatedjealousy does yours work?

Well i’m currently trying it right now, and it logs me in, but it shows EVERYONE as off-line. I checked my own name and it says i’m off-line eventhough i am on-line. So yeah, it’s not working right now.

Ok just checking with you, last time I said it was not working, I noticed I was doing someing really dumb.

Yahoo does change p2p once in a while, If you installed buddy-spy 2.2.8 it did not work even when 2.2.10 was working. but now its not working, unsakred just has to notice its not working.

I just checked my buddy spy, it shows everyone as offline too… I read somewhere that it may be due to this yahoo messenger virus SS_AntiHacker posted about here https://bigblueball.com/forums/yahoo-messenger-support/37191-new-virus-yahoo-messenger.html, so i guess they will fix it soon.

When do you think it will be sorted out. Will it sort it self out or would i have to re-install buddy spy. I love that program, I hope it gets fixed soon.

I just checked the BuddySpy forum on that issue. It seems to be a Yahoo problem and they are working on it. So i guess we just need to be patient. 😉

Yes, people need to let me know that its not working! lol

I work a few jobs right now and have a few personal problems I am dealing with so I am rarely on anymore.

I recieved about 200 e-mails yesterday and the triple bandwidth usage tipped me off to something lol.

I worked on it some last night, and I will be looking into it more tonight.

Just another note to people.

This is NOT just an issue with Buddy Spy. This affects EVERY online checker out there.

So don’t think downloading a different program will make any difference, because it won’t.

This is a patch done by Yahoo, which causes false readings.

Even if you do find a little trick, which there are a few, DO NOT take stock in the results you receive. They are NOT accurate.

Please be patient while Brandon and the other programmers, work on a fix to this. When they do, someone will let us all know.

I am hoping to have a fix out by this weekend, so stay tuned. I did post the link directly to the buddy spy forums, so I will try to also do a follow up post here 🙂

On the top of this thread, right above the first post on upper right hand corner… click Topic Tools>Suscribe to this Topic, that way you get an e-mail whenever someone posts an update on BuddySpy, because we’ll be sure to mention if it ever starts working again! (It’ll send an e-mail to the e-mail address you registered with.)

New version 2.2.11 RC 9 not the old RC 9 this one was just releast 9/19/06

“Scan Types”

Invite Packet: No matter what you do it will always say offline.

Peer to Peer Packet: If the person you are trying to scan is
on your friends list, and the IM name of the bot you are useing
on their list, It will work perfect.
Anything other then the two people on each other lists it will say offline.

Unless you try to scan a IM name that is not created yet, it will say online.

Edited: Avatar Packet: If the person that you are trying to scan has an avatar and they are online it will say offline, If they are offline it will say online. If the person does not have an avatar and they are online it will say online, if they are offline it will say offline.

With the new yahoo photos you can see who has an avatar.

Web Check: If the person your trying to scan logs on
yahoo invisable or logs on as invisable then changes to Available, Buddy-spy will say offline.
If they log on Yahoo Available or they log on Available then change to
invisable Buddy-spy will say online.
If there offline, buddy spy will say offline.

I recommend web check, It will be more correct if your not on each others lists.
