CoxsackieVirus
MemberWhich would you recommend, Ad-ware or Spybot Search & Destroy? I wont need both of them, if one of them is better than the other.

MemberIt is recommend to have both since one is not enough to detect spy/ad wares!

ParticipantUm, SPYBOT is usually used for spyware, and AD ADARE is used for ads maybe? They both do a combination of both, but like Brian said, it’s probably better off having both.

ParticipantCoxsackieVirus: You are clearly spamming, please stop.
you need both programs to be protected, that’s how it is. Delete one if you want, we don’t care.

MemberI will go with the program pest control, it not only finds the adware and spyware. It also finds things programs leave other places in your computer long after you delete the programs. It finds them in your registry, windows system, it tells you maually where to find them and how to delete them.

MemberPest Patrol is not freeware though. Both Ad-aware and Spybot S&D are free to download

ParticipantAd-aware and Spybot search and destroy are both rated the best ad-removing and spyware-deleting software in PC world magazine.
And by the way, I think I remember ad-aware tracking spyware before.

KeymasterI use SPY SWEEPER
Very,Very good!!!
Also there is: XCLEANER
I use this for securely shredding files (It takes the headers off of the files making them unrecoverable) also includes a mini spy/adware checker………

MemberQuote:quote:And by the way, I think I remember ad-aware tracking spyware before.Ad-Aware does find spyware too, however Spybot S&D finds Spyware that Ad-Aware couldn’t. The same with Spybot, it can detect Adware, however Ad-Aware finds some Adware that Spybot has missed. So you are best running a combination of both.

MemberI use Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Pest Patrol and recently installed SpySweeper as I heard good things about it. its good to have more than one so that one can find what the other couldnt.

Memberlol, yeah I’m starting to do the same. One more can never hurt. So far it’s ad-aware, spybot, and spy sweeper. Might try Pest Patrol too cause I’m always hearing about that.

KeymasterI used both just today and ad aware did not catch two of the trojans on my computer and neither did spy bot, I did however catch them with something called trojan hunter.
