MemberThis post is pointless, can we have a moderator remove it? Everyone already hates ads. But the software producers need the ads for profit. Use an ad blocker or get over it. Someone lock this or remove it.

MemberWell let’s say you make a website, and you have spent about a year into making it. You bought a server, pay for DSL with a static IP and own the domain name. With the server alone, you are set back a couple thousand dollars. You pay $90 dollars a month for DSL w/ static IP. Wouldn’t you put up some sort of ad to cover your cost? If not, do you charge for your site?

Me604, I won’t tolerate any ads that install spyware… PERIOD. So we agree on that point. That’s why you’ll never get an ad like that on this site.

Participantsome off topic posts are intresting..at least they provide interest and actually get a response whereas i seem to get little response to my postings.
“o yeah and caps make you look dumb”
i disagree with that. while having all caps constantly is annoying in the instracne it was used here it emphaized anger and frustation. It was apporriate.

ParticipantAlright, I had to bring up a point here. As much as I agree with removing the pop up for the ads, but I have a problem with what their ad-ing. According to the Forum Policies, Bigblueball doesnt support the following:

Jeff, as cool as that ad is, the general information people ask may end up turning bad. Someone may ask for a yahoo booter, a crack, ware, whatever, and the google ad will pop up whatever their looking for.Maybe you should look into another choice for ads.

KeymasterDetn8r, actuallly there is nothing illegal about creating or selling software to keep track of usage on your own computer, which is what those programs advertised are for. While I personally don’t condone them, some people feel it helps them keep their spouse or children accountable. What our forum policies do not allow is sharing programs that allow you to install like a trojan on a computer that is NOT your own, for purposes that are clearly suspect.
If you ever find something that you feel is truly illegal, please report it to Google by clicking the small “Ads by Google” link in the lower right corner. This lets you report the specific ad(s) in question.
