Are you talking about bigblueball or your buddy list??? Because i believe the only way to change the backround on ur buddy list is to get aim expressions.

Just to let everyone know that the site too change your buddy list colors is http://sniip3r.kitt3n.com/programs.htm
Although it seems to only work on windows xp. I tried it on 98 second edition and it said it was missing files. You need the newest version of aim.

Michael319, I found that the program has too many bugs to be even worth using. Dont even bother in trying to get it to work. It crashed my aim and i had to reinstall. Then it crashed my deadaim and i had to reinstall that. Good thing i keep all my installation files.

To use AIM Patcher you have to be a little smarter then your average `someguy03`. This program will not crash your AIM, nor will it crash anything else if you have a brain in your skull. It is one of the most simple things to use. All you do is open it, select the version of AIM that you have, then you will be prompted to select the buddyui.ocm from your AIM folder. Then you will get a dialog showing you the things you may edit on your buddylist. You can simpy select the colors using a color picker. It will also allow you to view the changes before applying them. How hard can it be? It’s free and simple. I guess there are some people in this world who just can’t comprehend things.

Shut up ghost, i wouldnt try and go and be some tough guy when u jsut got here. I followed the instructions just as they said. I actually tried 3 times before giving up. Every time my aim said it wouldnt load and deadaim dissapeared. You cant “mess up” when you do such simple instructions as selecting your aim version and buddyui.ocm You automatically assume that im stuped because it wont run. It followed everything exactly, even got some help from others. None of them knew why it wasnt working and assumed it was my system. So, ghost, why dont you tell me why the patcher wont allow my aim to sign in if your so smart.

update: i just downloaded his newest version, (my old one was his first) and it works fine. I guess it was one of the bugs he fixed. no more need for help from you ghost. thanks anyway…..

Hey Hey now , don’t fight over some stupid buggy software 😛
There was a nasty bug , yes , probably thats why *someguy03* your Aim crashed. I fixed it and you should not have any problems with it.

Just to let everyone know that it works on 9x , NT and XP.

Another way to edit the backgrounds and other things is to go to Aplication DataAimyourscreennameresourcesCurrentSettings.XML You can edit the information in this to anything you wish, you can even edit the sounds that Aim plays when you send IM’s and so forth. It should be pretty easy to understand even if you don’t know XML.
