I tried searching back for a similar post but didn’t find one.
Anyway, heres my problem:
I run windows xp and use a wireless adapter to connect to the internet, sharing it with one other computer. I was running aim 5.5 and one evening while I was connected (but not talking to anyone) the program froze.
I tried restarting it and it would freeze after “verifying name and password” So after trying that a few times and failing I uninstalled the program. I went to visit http://www.aim.com to re-download the program but I couldn’t get the page to load so I figured it was a problem with AIM. I tried on the other PC and it connected to the site.
I’ve tried everything every forum has suggested. Running ad-aware, norton, jay’s aimfix, searching for the HOST thing. EVERYTHING. It’s quite frustrating because all of my friends and family use AIM.
Also, I can’t connect using Trillian. I also cannot view the AIM homepage using mozilla either.
If anyone could help me try and fix this problem I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
maybe its your wireless adaptor and the area of the house your in….if u can connect on the other pc but not on urs then its the wireless since both comps are in the house
sounds like someone logged into your router and blocked AIM under your services. and blocked AIM.com under the filters.
Well, I can’t connect on the main PC either. I cant view numerous sites like http://www.google.com and I can’t log into ebay.
Do you know how I could change the router settings and stuff? I contacted Linksys and told them my problem as well.
