Memberhttp://www.trenchik.com/aimchats/ think it would be worth while trying to come up with a website that is just for additonal AIM chats? how could I keep bots out?

MemberYou can’t keep bots out, but a bot will only start entering chat rooms that become populer, like the site you posted states, the old chats are filled with bots, probably because they became populer. Porn bot makers target chats with lots of people.

But there isn’t some sort of irc script you can download to disable access for unauthorized bots in your chat room?
I don’t know, it’s just a thought.June 3, 2004 at 6:12 pm #78675matttren
MemberIRC and AIM are two totally different clients. the south jersey chat hasn’t got infest. I wish there was a way to fight bots, such as crashing them or something. Internet Warfare is fine as long as it is justified.

MemberI think he thought we were talking about IRC. But one thing we must hope for, is that AOL puts something like pyboticide on their servers. I mean, they don’t even have to block the bots from entering the chats, just keep their messages from showing up. And if they put pyboticide on the AIM servers, people connecting to the servers will go through pyboticide and won’t be able to see the bots messages. But I doubt they will ever do this, they are being stupid. But hey, look what happend with Deadaim, so theres a possibility it might happen.

Membermattren are you from south jersey?
i think aim should do something about the chats too. I stopped using them because of this. I think you could set up your own chats and moderate them tho. you would just need someone on aol to create them and set your aim as an op or whatever. at least thats what I hear you can do. then you could just kick/ban all the bots if they enter.
