I am having a problem with my AIM and hope somone can help. I am on a LAN at KSU with a month old computer, using XP home, SP 2, AIM 5.9. Very recently AIM has started to auto-disconnect my connection and resign me back on in one-two seconds. The problem is very unpredictable. It happens every 5-10-15-30-60 minutes. I also expereience AIM frequently freezing up. I cant access buddy info or send and receive messages. When this happens I must sign off and sign back on to fix it. I have tried everything from reinstalling version 5.9 installing version 3.5 and version 5.5. I have also made sure both my firewalls allow AIM to access the internet. I notice no difference with my regular internet connection when my AIM disconnects. Please help…my buddy are getting annoyed.
If your using a HTTPS protocol that might be the reason you keep getting diconected. AIM even says that some HTTPS severs may disconect you with out warning. So if you are using that there is nothing you can do really.
